Proton VPN? Anyone?
'm finally going to a VPN but as usual there are so may choices. I figured I'd start with a freebie just to see if VPN really suits me.
So any guidance from y'all? |

This is the "protective" VPN installed on your PC? So all of your traffic goes through the VPN?
Not sure why you need it. I use a hardware VPN so I can access my office network from anywhere in the world. |

OK, then that makes sense.
The whole "so my ISP can't tell what I'm doing" seems dumb. The VPN company knows exactly what you are doing! |

There are zero knowledge services out there. Pure and Nord do not track or log. |
What exactly do you think a VPN will do for you?
Hint - they were created to provide a tunneled connection between two private networks across public internet, or a tunneled connection from one device to a private network. |

I am a full Proton user...including their much superior email service which is double encrypted (they have one key, I have the other, its impossible for them to divulge my email to anyone without my key+they are Swiss based and relatively immune from the more idiotic governments).
I pay for the service - worth it - use their VPN and it is pretty good and I feel much better at a customer site using the guest wifi knowing that my traffic is unintelligible to anyone. They keep improving it, it has good service and servers, but there are other services that are equally as good....I just like the combo. ...and I am almost done de-googlefying myself and my Microsoft use is virtually zero (just use it for Motec now) D. |
