Posted My 1982 CJ7 just the other day and got the following reply, not sure if it is real, what say you all?

Hi,

Thank you so much for your response, I've been working really long weeks at work so I won't be able to meet with you before purchase, but am ok with the price and condition as shown on the advert, I'll proceed in issuing a check to you and when you receive the payment and it clears, I will make arrangement for pickup. So get back to me with below details asap.

Name to be on the payment ...........
Address to mail the check to Not P.O.BOX ........
City, state and Zip code ............
Last Asking price...................
Phone number to text you on .........

As soon as this is provided, payment will be overnight to you through FEDEX next day delivery and I will let you know then tracking number of the package. I will also add an additional $70 for keeping other buyers off till my check gets to you, also please delete the posting or mark as sold. Thanks and I hope we handle this in good faith while waiting to hearing from you

Are you kidding? Classic and trite at this point.

Just get a Google phone number. It costs nothing. Use that, and use a work address to have the check sent to if you can.

Yea, it is a scam, but you can play along with him and waste his time.

The check itself will be a fraud, so unless you wait for the bank to clear the funds, he will be long gone with your car, and all of your personal information.

Ask him for a phone number/name to talk about the details of the transaction in real time (not emails/texts).

Yes...you must talk live. Then ask him to provide deposit via Zelle or Venmo.

Unless you have the time to waste, don't.
