Do you like leather bicycle seats?
For sniffing or bragging purposes?

Depends on who rode it last. I like the smell of her better. I wont sniff again after I ride.

I have a Brooks B17 on my Surly LHT and I would guess I have around 8,000 miles on it. Year round commuting, double centuries, a gran fondo or two... it has been a great saddle.

Yes!
Have a brooks something or other on my ebike. Loved it so much, bought the wife a similar one. What is great about them? They are slick. You can move off the hot spot onto a comfort spot. I would ride a brooks in my mountain bike except they weigh a ton and don’t like water / mud. |

I saw a bike seat once that had a gap for farting through. The modern age eh, who'd have thought.

The gap is engineered to take advantage of the negative air pressure flowing beneath the seat to help pull the fart out, which expands and creates a pressure wave, not unlike a 2-stroke motorcycle exhaust, propelling the rider forward with amazing force. Properly tuned, acceleration is phenomenal. Last edited by LEAKYSEALS951; 04-20-2021 at 05:43 AM.. |

I have a brand new Brooks saddle on the shelf. Seemed like a good idea at the time of purchase but I've never been able to get myself to install. I may install it on my old campy super record equipped Viner I plan to hang in the house.

the B67 is brand new. Have about 3 miles on it. Last night I noticed a sort of twist sensation when shifting my weight left or right....I guess it feels like the rails are moving/rotating at the seat post clamp...tightened everything down and still doing it. Never had a spring seat before so Im not sure if this is normal sensation. Nothing is visibly wrong....theres always something to figure out I guess

I've always liked the double sprung B33 and 135, but it flares way to wide in the back for how I sit. These are "upright" bike seats. Also weighs a ton. Fun to look at though!

was going to get that but figured the B67 was fine for my purposes. My recent build is totally upright. very comfortable bike and seat, right out of the box

I asked my wife about her brooks last night. She loves it. It is single sprung.
This is from a very non-cycling person. Who formerly road a couch on her bike. |

yes, my wife has a Brooks on her Rivendell.
mine are both some Italian leather saddles...I don't recall the name. they are slender and smooth. I subscribe to the idea that the thinner and more minimalist the saddle is, the less pain. the seat is pushing and rubbing on less of my ass area. I am slowly tearing one of my saddles. I hang it on things, and if I am not careful it hits the nose coming and going. at the park at the bar, at home. it hangs from the nose of the saddle.

I have three bikes that I ride and they all have slender seats...all super comfortable.
I rent a bike often while on vacation and get stuck with a wider seat that comes with a hybrid bike. An hour with one of those is more than enough.

and mine (I remembered) are Selle Italia seats. I have the exact same seat on both bikes. a mtn bike and a cyclocross.
