Dipstick.

Recently purchased a platinum Toyota Highlander. It has many bells and whistles, but the one that is absolutely must have on our next vehicle is the digital rear view mirror. We use it 100% of the time. At night it makes a heck of a difference for viewing angle and brightness.

So you know it's fake, but you still want to control how fake it is? So it's like a Fleshlight? You want other inserts? https://lubeanalyst.com/wp-content/u...ert-review.jpg |

To go with the heated seats, I say chilled seats.
I had my 2014 F250 for a year before I knew Ihad this. Maybe not an essential in other parts of the country, but in the hot humid south it is great. Especially after being outside in the summer, working. When I bought the replacement, it came down to 2 trucks. One had heated and COOLED seats and that made the difference. On the heated seats, if you overdue it with your back, turn the heat on all the way and blast the AC in your face. Your back will unknot. |

Turn signals in the side view mirrors.

The simple key fob. I drove an '89 Chevy PU for 23 years with hand crank windows and hand operated locks. It was fine at the time, but no more.

Concerning backup cameras. An aftermarket is great. I've got one in my Boxster, and I love it. If I'm parked between two tall vehicles, the wide angle back at the back is able to see for me to be able to back up where I'd be over halfway out of the spot before I could see no matter what I was doing with my head/eyes.
But the OEM backup cameras where there are lines that show where the vehicle will go when the wheel is turned is another small step up. |
An option to get a stripped out version that doesn't have all these useless features, that you don't pay extra for. Something for people that know how to drive. 😂😂😂😂

My wife's Macan has most of the features listed in the thread, and I will admit many are great.
Yet I still love my 86 El Camino, and 85 911. The Elky does have a tilt steering wheel, wiper delays, and cruise control. But I have to unlock the door with a key, and reach across to unlock the passenger door. The windows go down with a hand crank, but I always drive with heat or AC on, never with the windows down. I have to use the mirrors and turn my head to see what is behind me. In the 30 years and over 300,000 miles I have not yet had any sort of problem backing up, or changing lanes. So yea, the nannies are nice, but I will prefer my manual cars. No ABS on either car. No traction control, no heated seats or steering wheels, no heads up display. Just a driver that does not use a cell phone when driving and watches the road and traffic. No tickets or accidents since the 1970s. |
The radar/car following cruise control on my 2016 Explorer. It's amazingly accurate.
Heated and cooled seats on same. Ease of Bluetooth/phone/music integration. Try that on a Benz - no bueno! Remote Start - amazing. If it's hot, the car's interior cools. If it's cold, it heats up! I don't care much about the (passive) backup camera, but the parking sensors are so intuitive, and they sound off even when I'm not looking back or not looking at the screen (active). |
OT, but the one thing I'd like them to bring back? The direct vent/flap to the outside of the vehicle.
- Near the windshield via the hood cowl (many old trucks). - In the front footwells (my old Volvo 240's) - opened into the wheel wells. - Or via a pop-out flap in a front fender. |
