Caddy CTS 3rd Gen Vs. BMW 530 G30?
So my DD - '08 BMW 528 XI now has @212K is starting to get a little loooong in the tooth. I bought it used with @88K on the clock years ago and besides maintenance and expected repairs, has never left me stranded, and overall it's just nice enough to be seen in but if something major happens accident-wise or catastrophic, the ROi is paid in full.
I've always had a BMW 3/5 series as my DD for 20+ years now, and really like them all and know them well, as I do all of my own repairs and maintenance. Recently, 3rd gen Caddy CTS's have caught my eye, my opinion is I like just about everything about them. For comparison; each car I would consider has the 4cyl turbo, each can be equipped with AWD of which I may not do on the next DD. They are relatively close in pricing depending on mileage. The new G30's (2016 +) are lighter, have more power and I like the looks. The 3rd gen Caddy (2015+) seems to have most of the issues resolved from the earlier generation, and look better as well. Anyone owned, driven, worked on a 3rd gen caddy? Thoughts please.

Admitted bias here (see DD below), but the Caddy styling will get hard to look at within one year (my opinion). Suspect component quality and road manners will deteriorate quicker as well. The 5 series has understated styling and a sense of quality I don’t think you’ll find in the GM car.
