I need to burn thru a brick of .22 showing up my BIL.

I hate a crowded shooting range. I can only handle one guy's safety concerns. my BIL. (muzzle directional awareness).

just a thought. everyone is hoarding. ammo is scarce. are the gun ranges empty?.

That’s why I haven’t gone in months.

I saw a few folks running full auto guns last time I went two weeks ago. People who can afford to buy at current prices are still shooting.

That is because of the government surveillance taking pix and license plates #'s to know who to put on their list of people to come and get..relocation to FEMA camps is comimng to the deplorables..

Society will be better off without them...people will be happy if they own nothing..

My club range is as busy as ever, at least on the members' only ranges. It seems the ranges that are open to the public haven't slowed down much either. I'm actually heading there right now to check out a change in powder in one of my favorite 6.5 x 55mm Swedish Mauser loads. I'm going from Reloder 22 to IMR 4350 behind the 158 grain Lapua bullet. I have an unopened 8 pound keg of IMR 4350, and only a pound of Reloder 22 left, which I need for my 7mm Remington Magnum. The little Swede should be well suited to the IMR 4350, where that powder is a bit fast for the 7mm mag.

Anyway, I'm hoping I can get a bench - it actually gets that busy still, even on a weekday.

It's amazing how much money is floating around out there. Every house for sale goes in hours for way over asking. $.70-$1.00/rd. ammo flies off the pallets before it can loaded onto shelves. NICS wait times are nuts. It's weird out there.

They have closed a bunch of ranges around here. I prefer to go to the national forest anyway.

onewhippedpuppy 04-30-2021 11:27 AM

Ours are busy, they typically have common calibers for purchase if you are shooting on the range.

id10t 04-30-2021 01:26 PM

My range has just started up competitions again. But the general area is awful quiet.

Sure, is there anywhere to shoot in communist Gainesville?

Arizona_928 04-30-2021 01:48 PM

I don't think anyone wants to go to a gun range.
I know a few guys that only shoot on private land now.

I shoot on federal land. I pick up my brass though

Yup, Gainesville Target Range. I can bring you as a guest and we'll have 200 yard rifle w/ steel at 200, or 25 yard pistol.

Unfortunately my tax stamp collecting friend has the covid now, so it will be a while before the brass makers come out to play again.

Ribs are still recovering but sound like a plan.
Hopefully your friend is OK.

Ammo is expensive, and there are still lots of blue collar folks who are underwater.

Fast Freddy 944 05-01-2021 04:34 AM

Plenty of ammo here, ranges are full to capacity, no issues here..

Mike Andrew 05-01-2021 04:47 AM

I have cut back on my shooting at my place in NW WI. Ammo is just too hard to replace, regardless of cost. Trap shooting friends are having league seasons shortened or canceled due to lack of ammo at any price.
I do have an older brick of .22 that I am working on but all the bigger stuff is sidelined.
