But they have an equal amount of professionals working around the clock to protect their systems. They have layers on layers, big data real time analysis and proprietary OS, tailor made for just that functionality, disabling anything they don't need or want

your desktop OS that is the same for everybody and has loads upon loads of functionalities and tools and programs that each might be vulnerable.
So unless maybe you use some rare Linux variant as your desktop an are extremely disciplined in terms of what you do on it, what you allow on it, and how fanatically you update and maintain your system, My money is on the online company run by pros.
