This one just makes me sad...

And makes me feel old. I was just thinking about this woman very recently, reminiscing about the time in about 1984 when she sat down with my friend and me at Larry Parker's Diner on Beverly Dr. in Beverly Hills.

It was a 24 hour diner for a time in the early '80s where everyone went after the bars and clubs closed. My buddy Alan from Kansas City and I were having a late breakfast at 2AM and two slightly inebriated but very friendly young women from another table decided to join us. It might have been a situation where the other girl was not really attractive and her hot friend was helping her out, I don't remember. I only remember that one of them was Tawny Kitaen and she was very nice. There was never any pretense that either of us were going to score with her, it was just innocent. I remember it like it was yesterday, for some reason.

During the last year of mostly take out food, I frequently grab some grub from the Chin Chin on Beverly Dr. and walk right past where Larry Parker's used to be, (right next door). I always reminisce about different times eating there with various friends. Anyhow, she was a genuinely nice person and I'm sad that she struggled with addiction/alcoholism in life. Rest in Peace, pretty lady. :(

IMHO the sad part is that she wasn't happy with herself even though she was beautiful and with more than average talent. I hope she is at peace now.

Nicely done, Denis.

I really had no idea who she was beyond the name. The LA Times article was a revelation, at least to me.

The ambulance chaser with all of the billboards? I think that was a different guy.

Her brother said " she couldn't deal with the drudgery of daily life- it bored her". I can absolutely identify with that, I understand it. But chasing better highs and adrenaline rushes become more difficult as you age, at some point it all goes smooth....
