Pictures of BMW 507 restoration
Here's some pictures of the 507 being restored, I will apologize early for not having the before pictures posted yet. I sent the wrong film in first. Yes I still use film. The work being done because of accident damage that was beat out and filled with plastic in the seventies.

This one is 1957 and was very complete when this project got started. They are great cars with a little pushrod V8 under the bonnet. Unfortunately for BMW they were money losers.

That, and the 3.0 CSL, were my dream cars in my youth. Absolutely beautiful cars.

That was a wonderful period of car design...what people believed was aerodynamically efficient at the time resulted in some really pleasing to the eye automobiles.

Wow. Are you sure that you don't want to just build a half-scale model of the Empire State Building? Might be easier.

It's my car but I am not doing the work, I could only wish I had these skills.

I think it was a little easier, it's almost done and all I did was write a check, this is one of three 507's we have and all have some form of "surgery" done to them. If you want difficult try finding quality parts for the engine.

with regards to film developing, what you are referring to is (was) the last roll of Kodachrome (a wildly popular Kodak slide film) being developed at the last place that still developed it, Duanes in Kansas.
It was a big event so to speak and the the closing of an era for both that particular film (Kodachrome) and film developing. But lots of places still develop film. According to the counter folks at the camera counter at my local Wal-Mart, they get tons of film to develop. Sure enough, its some times tough to stuff my film envelope into the film collection box because its so full. Curt |

Holy, glorious, Bavarian crap - a 507. That's surely a contender for coolest car on PP.
Lovely. Needs more cowbell, though. And pics. |

I have never heard of the 507 before today- after spending a few hours looking and reading about them I'm truly taken by the styling for the year- what a great car and project
