Rent a Hobie on Chesapeake Bay - Where?

Looking to rent a Hobie on Chesapeake Bay some where. Only found one place... Ultimate Watersports north of Baltimore and they're not on the Bay. Anyone in the Bay area that knows of a place?

Any preference on location?

The Bay is, as you know, huge and varies greatly from near open ocean to rivers, etc.

Seahawk... I only found one place online so figured not being too choosy was best! Prefer down south as am driving up from the south. Also would like to be on or close to the bay as opposed to a feeder. Thanks ~~~

Does it have to be a Cat?

I will ask around with friends of mine. There is a really vibrant sailing culture in this area...particularly Solomon's Island.

I had a Hobie 16 for years here. I got it for free 20 years ago and sailed it for 5 years off the farm so I get the attraction and your desire to rent a Cat.

Prefer Cat but J70 is good too. FYI been sailing for years. Experience includes crew then Capt for 63' trimaran sailing between Miami and Bahamas. Am interested in spending a day or two on the Bay. Datewise am thinking sometime Aug. - Oct. but my schedule depends on putting various pieces of the drive together so cannot say for sure at this moment.

Thanks for asking around Seahawk---much appreciated.

Why can't forums be more like this exchange?

You both are good people.

Thank you

I'll sub to this thread. I am not aware of any rentals and I will leave it up to Seahawk to research. If push comes to shove I may be able to get my hands on a Hobie for you. I have friends near Virginia Beach I can reach out to and others around the bay.

Please run your contacts, dr. Virginia Beach would be great.

The Navy rents boats here in Patuxent River, Annapolis has rental places as well.

There is enough time to make this work.

I can tell the OP that August sailing here is often frustrating, just hot and still until the storms come. September and October are much preferred.

Full disclosure, I am not a "sailor": I have had a lot of fun on Cats (Hobies and Prindles) but nothing bigger unless there was beer, wind and someone who knew what they were doing running the program :)

Roger that, I will reach out tomorrow to a few people to see what is available. Speaking of which I haven't seen Chris (Vincent Vega) post in a while? He's a bay sailor and a good guy.

Being into kayaks myself, I thought your were talking about a Hobie, sit in fishing kayak ! Cats are cool too, and a bit faster also.
