Any service related business that is even halfway competent is overwhelmed.

This is how I have felt for a year, sure I could get employees, but I can't.
I called to have my furnace serviced this winter , and the bigger company in our area needed 3 weeks, then called back and had to put me out further.
Found another company that came in a few days .
I just called said company to hang a new big gas furnace in my shop for the winter, and she said , they may not be able so service me till the end of summer . AC calls off the charts. Has not stopped since early May , and its not even hot here yet .
Just had a rental cleaned out and all the cleaning ladies are booked out for a few weeks .
All the shops here are booked out for 2-3 weeks minimum, all construction guys ,, roofers, concrete guys ,are hustling , landscapers are jamming and booked .
It is crazy. In a world, where you used to be able to just pick up the phone and get nearly anything you wanted done, now , your are fortunate to get anybody to show up , and do what they say they will at any price point .
All the honest competent people are full to the max . Could all probably hire on a few new people , if only they could find them and afford them .

Economy coming back to life . . . I’m getting stuck in traffic jams again, it’s a good thing.

My home improvement business is beyond busy. I'm turning work away. But I'm also getting a lot of certain jobs put on hold because material prices are so astronomical. The other thing that sucks is being able to find anything. Everything is out of stock, and the time from order to delivery is ridiculous.

.

I was on one of the main arteries to the UP in MI today US131
I don't ever remember seeing as much traffic on it...as today was.

And the weather is not good. At noon today, it was windy and 42 F

There is a lot of catching up to do from a year of hunkering down. This isn't permanent. Annoying, but not permanent.
I heard rumors of this kind of bubble happening when significant numbers of people got vaccinated and took heed. I ordered a heat pump for my swimming pool and a lift for my garage in January because I thought this might happen. It took a couple months for them to arrive, so I was right. I didn't install the heat pump until last week and the lift is still in the crate. At least I have them.

Lots of "free" money will do that.

Gimme a shout if ya need a hand installing the lift. It'll give me a reason to get the Porsche out.

I talked to two different Bobcat dealers today. One said he has no new equipment except 2 zero turn mowers and no used equipment. Times are tough! We need another 1.9T stimulus to help people.

I'm backed up 4 months. Chrome shop (Pebble Beach quality) I work with is 10 weeks, anodizer is very hard to get tank time and plater is very busy.

Everyone I deal with is extremely busy.

Yes. I know and have talked to a lot of business owners, they are all hiring and can’t find people willing to work. Maybe $15-ish an hour sitting at home will do that.

Agree should slow down in a year.

I tell some of my subs to enjoy the good time while now and don't burn their bridges being an ass jsut because they are busy. It will all come to an end within the next year or two. We will pay the piper. People sat around at home for a year saving all that money and, Yep, the gov's giving money away like its toilet paper. In my business, cities are really starting to open up and sign off plans for construction from the year's plans sitting on the desk waiting for approval. Applicants are complaining so the plan checkers that had a whole year of sitting on their ass are now taking notice that people are btiching. There's not enough people out there to supply the demands. I had to turn down a 400k addition two days ago. Owner and I talked for over two years, finally has his plans stamped so he can build. I had taken on too much, everyone is pisses. In the mean time, payments has been paid to the banks. Not fun. I feel bad for these people. Yep, talked to a couple of retail owners and they can't find people to work. Gov needs to stop this and force everyone back to work

Been trying to get a new septic field for 6 months. Being told “you’re on the schedule” with no estimate of when the work can start.

I just might do that. It would be good to meet ya.
Heck, I’ll throw some pork in the smoker and get some Zoetic, that should be a good enough reason to get the Porsche out.

Don’t have it. PM me. Would you be disappointed if you came down and there was no work to do?

Nope! But I wouldn't mind helping install. I put up my 2 post all by myself. Well, me and a Bobcat.
