Drinking the best beer of my decade
I ate a tiny tiny tortilla wrap for breakfast. Then I went fishing all day. Sipping water and ate a handful of Brazil nuts. Dragged home hungry, tired , sore HUNGRY. Took a fast shower and asked my lovely wife, “ where are we eating dinner?”
“ no, we need to take Helen to the ER”. Now I’m sitting at the ER. A slow ER. I get it. They prioritized. I ordered a few pizzas from a great place across the street. It’s going to be a long night. I came to pick it up and the bartender hands me a beer. “ on me”. What?! I guess they saw me come from the hospital. Unbelievable. I live in a great town. And. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1622948911.jpg Btw, I called my neighbor s grandson. He said, “ call me if it’s serious”. Haha. He isn't coming!!! I think Helen is bummed. I’ll hug her. |
Helen and I think you're the best!
Well done on taking care of your neighbor and that large mouth! |
Nice!

Consider your promotion and try not to think about the giant spider.

You, sir, are a scholar and a gentleman. Helen is a lucky neighbor.
Good luck in your trip to the ER. |
Dang, that is a fat fish!
Good on you and your wife for helping a neighbor. After a full day of fishing out on the boat I am always tired, smelly, a bit windburned/sunburned etc. and just generally bushed. It was for moments like these that God invented the shower beer, most delicious of beers! |
How is Helen doing?
|
I'm sure you and your wife didn't think twice about it, being the people you are. I also think the guy across the street does that on a fairly regular basis. Nice guy.*

Helen is fine. No DVT! She had a cyst in the back of her knee she failed to tell anyone about. It caused the swelling. She now needs to follow up with her regular physician. I’m done. Goodnight. |
This thread is worthless without a pitcher. Or at least the name/brand of the beer.
https://media.giphy.com/media/iB42V6...cvbV/giphy.gif Me so thirsty all of a sudden. |
I hope it was some good German beer. As a teenager, I spent a summer in Europe and had a lot of great beer in Germany. After that, I couldn't drink beer in the US.
|
We had an ad on TV where the punch line was "That man deserves a beer."
You are that man. Or as we say in New Zealand "You is that man." |
You are indeed a good man Vash!
However, I was hoping for beer recommendations :) I have to say after a day up in the mountains Black Butte Porter on tap is hard to beat! |

Seismic Shatter-Cone IPA. It’s a local beer. Wish I had time for two glasses. |

Also, Tricerahops and Total Domination from Ninkasi Don't know who from PPOT recommended it to me, but thanks for turning me on to Bell's Two Hearted http://forums.pelicanparts.com/suppo...s/beerchug.gifhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/suppo...s/beerchug.gifhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/suppo...s/beerchug.gif |
