In The Heights
If you like musicals, this movie could be for you. Put together by Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton) and Jon Chu (Crazy Rich Asians), it pretty much had to be amazing and certainly didn't disappoint. The story is good enough, could have used a little tweaking here and there IMHO but the songs and music and choreography and NYC itself made it charming and heartfelt, full of energy. And fun. Definitely a date night movie. Even if you don't like it that much, points with the wife or gf are well earned going to it.

My wife is dragging me to that. My payback will be of equal value.

Saw this tonight, the first movie I've watched in a theatre since last February. It was perfect - okay, you have to like musicals, which I do, and it had appealing characters, energy, good songs and seeing all that pre-pandemic city buzz was wonderful in a way that I wouldn't have appreciated before.

I love musicals and the old NYC. I watched the trailer, the music in the trailer isn't really gripping me, but looks like it is worth a try if for no other reason the NYC shots.
Thanks for posting Shaun. |
I love any project that employs that many dancers. They are people with real talent and athletic ability who work harder than an ugly stripper to be proficient and earning a living. :)

Saw it last night with the wife and kids, I thought it was pretty good. Nice story, good music.
