Why the easy bleeding?
In the summer, I wear shorts all the time.
Any contact with my legs from the knee down results in bleeding. Numerous times I have felt a small nick or scratch and looked down later and my sock is all red at the top with blood. (with no pain felt) What causes bleeding so easily? My arms don't do the same. |

And cut back on the Two Hearted... might reduce the bleeding :D Don't know how old ya are but skin gets easier to tear the older you get. My dad and my father in law can brush up against something and leak like a sieve. |
Not urgent. But next time you're at the doc's ask them about blood platelets.
|
I have had blood testing done a few times in the last few years....they never said anything was worrisome.
Two Hearted is good for anything....maybe I should eat more butter to thicken things up. The bleeding will stop/coagulate at a normal rate...but it seems like the skin is super thin and bleeds easily. |
What medications are you taking, either prescription or over the counter?
|
^^^ None.
I take an every other day vitamin from GNC. |
Skin thinning and more prone to splinters, yeah but bleeding like that, no.
Medication ? |

No meds. Had complete testing done a couple years ago when my femur was broken in a car/bike accident. |
was it the shins? mine does that occasionally. i think its because the skin is so thin?
i bled a total gusher once, it was painless and i didnt even know i was bleeding, until my wife noticed my sock was red. i asked my doc and i just happened to have had a full panel of blood work done. she said my numbers were fine. no issues. my mtn bike pedal just barely gouged my shin. my usual shin cuts dont gush like that. just that once. |

I also take blood thinners for A-fib and have for five years. No unusual bleeding but I'm not out doing yard work. I am for the most part sitting in my shop chair doling out wisdom F2F or over the phone. |

That almost perfectly describes my case. Pedals on my bike barely hit the shins....blood slowly running down into the sock for ten minutes or more. |
[QUOTE=Bob Kontak;11365066]64 and leg skin is thinner - in fact it's getting kind of like elephant skin. Kinda wrinkly.
That's what I'm thinking here also. I'm 67 and the skin has taken it's toll. |

Some of that is genetics as well. My brother, dad and grandmother all have (or had) the same thin arm skin. My brother carries 4 BandAids with him every time he leaves the house. He will come home with one or more used every day. |
^^^ I never have the same from hits or scratches to my arms.
It's always the legs....from the knee down to the foot. (especially the shins) |

The thing about splinters if ignored ... they will eventually be enveloped into a capsule which self ejects thru the surface in time, fun stuff. |
TMB Syndrome
Do you take aspirin or ibuprofen? |
Thin skinned. A sure sign of liberalism. Consider a more conservative outlook.
No, that was not PARF-worthy. Just a joke. |
