Propper hooligan machine there. A bit optimistic on the price though ($9k is well within newer SP territory).

Offer him $7k + split cost to ship >>> $7,500.
It's been on CL for 17 days.
I try to help, grasshopper...but you don't listen.

You shopping for a Hyper, Peter?

My 0.02, as if you asked

I have both a '08 1100 and a '08 1100S. The non-S rides so much nicer and is overall so much more comfy and relaxed feeling. Its like 2 different bikes. Not sure what you want the bike for, but if you're going to track day it, then yeah, get the S. Otherwise, I feel the non-S is a better around town and non-hyper-speed cruiser.

Nice! I sure enjoyed riding a Honda 250 around CR a few years ago.

Did the '08 have the Siemens ECU? Much easier to re-program those IIRC.

I loved my 93 900SS but had to sell it when 80 felt like walking.

What is a hypermotard made for?

It's for going slightly faster than that 900ss but With an upright, "task-chair" stance. Very fun.

I commute daily to/from NYC on a KTM 690 Duke. No better tool for the job in my opinion. Supermotard bikes are light, nimble, quick off the line, and narrow for squeezing between taxi cabs.

Similar to 'whos' your favorite child?'
If I had to pick one bike...and only one...it would either be my BMW R1100S or my Duc. Hyper 1100S EVO SP. I have a Duc Performance tank bag and a Ventura luggage system on the Hyper....I run errands on it and it's my Costco grocery getter.
So it's a utility bike for me and I chase around while doing so.
When grocery shopping or running errands I'll take the long route just to have some good fun.
It's gets close to everything that I want in a bike.
.
Notice the nifty seat cover...from Italy.

That's a nice looking 'tard.

I have entertained a Hyper but for a DD 50 miles/day the range is too short with that little gas tank. Looks like fun - though I agree the front fender is something only a mother could love.

Neat thing about the Ventura luggage system is that they have all manner of racks, etc.
When I don't have that huge bag on it I remove the underneath frame & put on a holding "U" bar. So the system basically disappears.

Don't get me started...
.
Power commander and dyno to totally eliminate the innate surging, 3T up with a quick change rear sprocket, dumped the 180 rear for a 170.
Now it's a smooth as deer guts on a door knob ...but a screaming banshee.
And amazingly nimble.

Similar with the Monster but no PC. Changed the counter shaft sprocket one tooth, dyno tuned and re-mapped. Plenty fast for an old fart like me.

3 year bump

So I spent this past Sunday enjoying a social distancing exercise with my son. Gotta say I really enjoyed my time on this '08 Hypermotard - such a fun experience, great seating position, fun noises, easy to ride. My son recently entered the bike scene and will be leaving for the Navy towards the end of the year. I was not planning to re-enter the riding scene so soon but have started looking at classifieds. I have sat on the newer versions but not ridden. I really liked the raw look/feel/sound of the '08 - the one pictured has 30K miles on it and was very nice.

Anyone have tips, warnings, suggestions with this Ducati line? I want to keep total price in the $6-8K range and under 15K miles. Folks always say newer is better, just checking
