Great Podcasts

Please post Podcasts you find to be consistently GREAT or identify podcast episodes you found informative or enjoyable. A brief description would be nice too!

Always entertaining and very informative: Car Talk with "Click and Clack" the Tappet Brothers. NPR puts it out. Free download. I very much enjoy it!

Tips from the top floor
Coffee break Spanish
Photo focus - used to be great

Many of my favorite pod casters have given up podcasting for google+ hangouts. Trey Ratclif being one of them.

Google+ is a disorganized mess.

I kind of like Art of Manliness, sounds kind of cheesy but he interviews some interesting authors. Pro athletics, war, history etc.
If you run, I like Phedippidations (sp?)

The Skeptic's Guide to the Universe - panel discussion on science and skepticism issues

The Geologic Podcast - not what it sounds like; Comedic musician George Hrab does a variety show of sorts, with features such as "The Religious Moron of the Week." Hrab is openly atheist and religious listeners may be offended, but there is enough variety to be worth listening to for the most open-minded listeners. Adult language, NSFW.

An awesome CBC radio show about advertising, used to be called Age of Persuasion, now called Under the Influence, but basically the same show. Hosted by an advertising creative guy. Filled with interesting unusual facts, plenty of history, a good dose of psychology, and good story-telling. I can't recommend it enough. Ironically, I hate advertising and do anything I can to avoid it, yet podcast this show religiously.

Anything from Andy Stanley!

Andy Stanley is the Senior Pastor at my church, North Point Community Church, in Alpharetta, GA. While religious in nature, (yes, Andy mentions God and Jesus), one could easily wear their "faith filter" and still pull some valuable tips and info from his words.

I vote no. Garrison Keillor makes me cringe.

Right! That's what I meant.

Ace on the House is worth a listen.

I'm embarrassed to say that I've not thought about privacy and surveillance this way.

I enjoy that show. I usually pick it up on the way back from the track on Saturday nights. Though Garrison's wheezy lispy voice is getting worse.

I like "Blues Kitchen" is two British guys playing blues, soul and other music they like. Oddball and common stuff. It's really good.

I don't understand how anyone can like Car Talk....but to each their own.

Lake Wobegone has had some really funny moments over the years but the show seems to be tailing off. My favorite skit was an episode featuring the Herdsman in the National Lutheran Ushering Championship. I thought it was hysterical.
