I have not had a soda of any sort in years. I certainly drank a lot of Dr. Pepper in my lifetime. I just lost the desire for sweet tasting chemical brews.

I do drink iced tea that is not sweet. And coffee, black. And water. Simple tap water.

I'm on the other side with Coke-zero

stevej37 06-23-2021 09:31 AM

^^^ I've had that before...it's good.
I saw this (mango) in the store and just bought it on a hunch.

The mango flavor is very good.

Nice. Interesting flavor. is it just mango, or is it mango flavored pepsi (still with the cola flavor, but with added mango)? Back in the day, I liked cherry coke and cherry 7-up. I don't think I ever had cherry Dr Pepper (Dr Pepper is so good the way it is).

I also no longer partake. Except for a 2 week vacation in the Amazon back in 2012 or 2014, I haven't had more than about 10 sodas in 20 years. I used to drink A LOT of soda. I got off because of the sugar and chemicals. Now it's mostly flavored or plain seltzer water (unsweetened).

It's probably not easy to find, and full of sugar, but this is what I drank when I was in the Amazon in Brazil. It's TASTY!

^^^ mango flavored Pepsi with no sugar.
I wanted a 2 litre to try...but could only find 12 packs of cans.
The salesperson said they are 'gearing up'. "Response has been very good."

The only ones I drink occasionally are Jarritos (GFS) and Milkis (Asian markets).

(and it's called "pop" ;) )

stevej37 06-23-2021 10:01 AM

It's taking me most of my lifetime to get used to calling it 'soda'.
We know that it should be called 'pop'....but too many are resisting. :)

Serious diet coke addiction here. Im not even overweight.:(:(

stevej37 06-23-2021 10:10 AM

^^^ Try one of these...you might be surprised. (it still has the caffeine)
Looking at the label...the only number above 0 is the sodium. And that is only 2% of daily value.

I'm beyond the age of worrying about soft drinks.
67 years old and I weigh 148
Here's a pic I just took.

Arstechnica had some good articles on how using artificial sweeteners have a negative effect on the biome in your gut which can cause all sorts of issues, including glucose intolerance.

Also, Aspartame gives me a spike in the head feeling headache.

For pop I try to only drink those with real sugar or honey as sweeteners but i don't have those often, maybe 2-3 per week. Tea and coffee are drank with no added anything.

It does sound like an interesting flavor!

I drink water.

Too many chemicals and BS that we shouldn't ingest.

stevej37 06-23-2021 11:58 AM

^^^ Your own well water?

La Croix Peach/Pear sparling water

I've discovered ginger beer. It's non alcoholic & not really a beer. Unfortunately the best flavors have sugar, so if I have a carton with sugar, I space out my drinking of it.

Sugar. I'm talking like an alcoholic here... Today is day 8 of no (refined) sugar. I tend to eat dinner then something winds me up (annoys me) in the news and I turn to chocolate biscuits or eat a bag of sweets. then I stagger around and sometimes only just make it to my bed or crash out on the living room floor, writhe about then fall asleep. Sugar rush daddy stuff. So I thought before my arms and legs fall off I'd go cold turkey on the sugar. So no (lovely :) ) drinks for me either.

Since I found out I'm prediabetic, I've drastically reduced sugar intake. I still have something once in a while, but I'm finding out sugar makes me feel bad a while after I eat something with it. I used to be a BIG ice cream eater. I miss that the most. I did find a sugar free ginger beer, but it wasn't as good.

Ever look at a water test result? It's not just H20.

For the most part, I drink seltzer, water, 2 cups max of coffee in the AM.

WPOZZZ 06-24-2021 12:00 AM

Mango flavored cola? Sounds nasty.
