A loose Moose in the canal...
 

Moose trying to swim from Lake Superior to Lake Huron!
Went through the full series of locks.

To help the moose through the Sault Ste. Marie Canal lock, a lock on the Canadian side of Sault Ste. Marie, the team closed the west lock and lowered the moose to the Huron side and off it went to shallow water.

Did you know they can dive up to 20 feet underwater to munch on plants.

I'll bet he/she was tired after swimming that distance...surprised it made it.

2 weeks ago on a hot day, we had a young moose come through our yard and head down to our pond for a swim and a nap by the water. It had another dip and then continued on its way.
