Eric Clapton Oracle Films Interview

Love the guy. A real hero of mine if there can be such a thing

Not sure what to think about what he is saying. Not sure about anything anymore actually.

what he says near the end about his fellow musicians not calling him anymore (because of his opinions) sorta sums it up. We are living in a sad reality. The world has gone mad and the majority of people on this planet are nuts

We went out to dinner last night. We are vaccinated. The state of emergency lifted in NY and people have been roaming the stores here mask-less for weeks. But wait, sign says NO ENTRY UNLESS YOU WEAR A MASK

I recently bought some Dead & Co tickets....big disclaimer...only those vaccinated can be under the shell..wont effect me but what about the other people...shouldnt they be allowed to decide what risk they are willing to take? this is madness

what a world. Glad I dont have kids that will have to navigate this bull ****

maybe in a few years everything will sort itself out in a good way but it doesnt look so good at this point

interesting that he cancelled a world tour. He said he was retired from touring just a year or so ago I thought. It would be nice to see him 1 more time. Saw him in 89 and 94. I think he sounds better now than ever according to the concerts i watch on youtube

Also didnt know about the emphysema...gee wiz he quite smoking back in 88 i think which means i smoked for about 10 years longer than him before i eventually quit

Not a sad reality if his associates disagree with him and choose to no longer associate.

Kind of goes to your next point, shouldn't they be allowed to decide who they choose to associate with and why?

As far as people being allowed to decide their risk level I don't disagree with you, we should all be free to decide what level of personal risk we expose our own selves to. But it's not just about ourselves now is it.

I'd argue limiting unvaccinated to some degree of isolated access is a smart financial decision.

More people are vaxxed than not and personally, I'd want to make sure the largest potential customer base felt as comfortable as possible.

As for the kids, every generation has been saddled with making the forward progress that previous generations were unable to accomplish.

It's just how it has always worked.

I've seen him 7-8 times over the years.

Every time I walked out thinking "can this guy get any better?"

Next show, he was better.

I think it is a sad reality that people are actually cancelling their friendships over a difference in opinion...whether its about who you vote for or how you feel about vaccines etc...

my personal feeling is that people take this crap way too seriously to the point that they are so obsessed with it, and feeling so strongly that their own opinion is the right one, that therefore everyone else who thinks differently is a monster or something....or hurting society by being vocal about something

thats the reality i see and its sorta sad, if you care about social networks and friendships and that sorta thing...which to be honest, i personally dont really care about.

In real life, nobody cares what i think and i dont care about what others think....I dont have kids or a big family that gets together at Thanksgiving and argues about all this stuff and ends up hating each other. Thats not my life at all but I know its happening to others....seems silly to me.

In my opinion, Dick Proenneke had the right idea...if only I had the balls and the skills

Im not sure your wrong but Im not sure your right either. I dont really know whats going on.

If I am vaccinated, why should I care if I am standing next to someone who hasnt been vaccinated? Yea I know the vaccine is not 100%, but am I supposed to continue distancing myself? I wont do that. Im done with this. If it kills me, it kills me. So be it. I know not everyone agrees with that. I was totally against putting this crap into my body but I did it to be a team player and because the alternative could be just as bad or worse and now that ive done it, im going to resume normal life and what comes will come and I dont think that anyone that has chosen to not get a vaccine should become some sorta 2nd class citizen

Do any of us going to a Dead & Company concert who are vaccinated really care if someone not vaccinated is also under the shell? I highly doubt that. I suspect that there is something else going on here....either the band is afraid, or their insurance company is afraid, or the powers that be are trying to reward the vaccinated and punish/encourage the unvaccinated by shoving them off into the lawn seats...who knows

Obviously given what Clapton said, performers are struggling with what to do and quite frankly, I dont get it. Tickets should be for sale to anyone. You chose to go, or you dont...and I think it was this part of the interview that left me scratching my head

I'd argue limiting unvaccinated to some degree of isolated access is a smart financial decision.

Yeah I guess you are correct. So people with a DUI should be only be permitted to drive the car assigned to them and it should be identifiable to others. But all cars should have an interlock of some sort or a chip reader to ensure those people don't drive other vehicles.

I'd argue limiting to some degree of isolated access is a smart financial decision for anyone with HIV/Aids, Hep B or some other communicable disease and/or should also be identifiable to the general public, be required to wear disposable gloves and face masks or some other measures to ensure they don't transmit their disease to others. I mean I don't want to be the person at the convenience store grabbing the coffee cup or milk after an HIV positive person just took one.

I also think all women should be required to take receive an injectable contraception provided by the male to ensure they don't pregnant.

Lol.

That’s what you got out of that?

Besides the fact that one can’t pass aids or hep b by simply breathing the entirety of your reply is literally the text book definition of non sequitur.

Yes and it is quite sequitur and I will quote you again.

"But it's not just about ourselves now is it.

The means of transmission or the vehicle is irrelevant.

I got you were confused the 1st time.

It’s not just about us is about us not driving drunk for the sake of others.

Why don’t you like capitalism? What’s wrong with a business decision having a basis in projected profit?

I agree it’s irrelevant when one makes ridiculous comparisons like spreading aids by breathing.
