Online auction bidding.
Are some people mad
![]() There was a second hand bench grinder - quite nice, being sold by the liquidators of an engineering place that's gone bust. It sold for $355 https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/marketplace/building-renovation/tools/power-tools/grinders/listing/3139996088?archive=1&bof=fWTFTR1h Whereas I could by the same one new for $185 https://www.machineryhouse.co.nz/G155A Duh, how stupid are these people. |

Not just on-line.
When Paul Weir's Porsche shop in downtown Seattle closed, I went to the auction where the parts & equipment were being sold off. I was primarily interested in getting a lift. There were a couple two-post lifts, all bundled up on pallets, with a bit of hydraulic fluid still dripping from the hoses. Auction fever! They ended up selling for more than buying new, with installation and warranty. I like auctions, but I'm looking for a bargain, not "winning". |
