How do you measure wheel bolt pattern?

I want to get new wheels for my boat trailer - the old wheels are rusted and I'm not sure powder coating them would restore them.

Anyway, I was looking on eBay and I see many nearly identical trailer wheels for sale and it looks like the price is about the same as if I were to restore/powder coat my existing wheels. These are basic 14" white star type wheels that you see on a lot of trailers.

I Know it's 5 lug but what is the proper way to measure so that I don't waste my money? Any advice will be appreciated.

I would have never guessed that 5 lug wasn't center to center.

Diameter of the lug circle:

On an odd number of lugs, measure the radius to center and double it for diameter.

It's a 4.5" or 114.3mm Stud Pattern.
