Ventura's new ride

Thought you guys might like to see what our old gov' is drivin.
Once a Porsche guy always a Porsche guy.

Ventura and Pawlenty get some Porsche time together
Dane Smith, Star Tribune

Published May 7, 2003 SPIN07

Jesse Ventura swung by his old stomping grounds Tuesday to show off his new deep-blue Porsche Biturbo to his pals in State Capitol Security. He also happened to catch the eye of their new boss, standing nearby.

Shortly after Gov. Tim Pawlenty chatted for a bit with his predecessor, he found himself the passenger in a joy ride down Interstate Hwy. 94 that at times, he hinted, might have exceeded the speed limit.

"I think most Minnesotans break the limit once in a while," Pawlenty said when asked about Ventura's velocity.

On the topic of how fast they might have been going, Ventura said of Pawlenty, "he still can't talk."

It was the first time Ventura and Pawlenty have had a chance to visit at any length since the election, spokesperson Leslie Kupchella said.

So what did they talk about during their 10-minute spin?

Ventura said he advised Pawlenty, whose job-approval rating has dipped in recent polls, to follow his own policy at such times. "Just don't watch the news or read newspapers at all," Ventura said with a laugh.

Jesse may be a Porsche guy but he's still a colossal idiot! I've gotta give this story a "who cares"!

I don't think he is an idiot. I think he says what most people are thinking but don't dare to say in public. Also his past hurts. But not an idiot, He just isn't capable of "playing the game". IMHO

ha ha...makes me wonder what Jesse would say about us if our life was in the public spotlight! Some of us are so quick to judge!

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then.

I hate to turn this into a political thread but Jesse was every bit the typical politician regardless of what he says. His actions and words were constantly conflicting with each other and the guys views on issues were never consistant. Those who actually paid attention always understood this. His election was simply the result of a protest vote primarily by those that bought the B.S. he was selling...and still only a third of the voters gave him the nod. Thus the reason his popularity dropped like a rock. And he made MANY more mistakes than just one.

Not jabbing at you at all, but he intrigues me. Could you elaborate on some of his flip flops? Again not challanging you, just would like to be informed. Thanks

I voted for him too. When you considered the options at the time...I liked that he actually answered a question when he was asked it. Not that everyone liked what his answers were...but at least it was not a stock answer or beating around the bush.

Sure he could not take criticism and I did not always agree with him...but he was something different for the time he was in.

Didn't he try to sell his porsche on Ebay and then took it off auction? I never knew what he ended-up doing with it.

Also...didn't he get a Humvee (sp?) too??

Anyway......

I would have voted for him in a minute. I think he speaks his mind and you dont feel like you are being spoon fed what you want to hear, even if you don't like it. Also, he past was very colorful, but there wasn't a segment of society that couldnt relate to him, at least a little. Navy Seal, Biker, Wrestler, Actor, Radio Host, and Friggin Governor! what a life.

Paul
