Any leads on a .40 or .45 acp REVOLVER?

To facilitate the use of equivalent ammunition I am in the hunt for a revolver that can use the same ordnance as my semi autos. I see plenty of them on the net but every retailer is out of stock.

Charter Arms seems reasonably priced and states that moon clips aren't needed. While they have been around a few years I'm not familiar with the reliability of the brand. But at $500 new they may be worth a look.

Of course S&W has a few models but priced at almost $1,000.00

The Charter Arms Pitbull 40 cal stainless steel revolver has been around since 2011 . Many police officers use them as back up to their semi auto pistols . Online reviews seem solid , I say go for it.

Now who would carry it in stock?

Scroll down on this link , a whole bunch of dealers listed . Call and check stock . Other than that check local gun shops .

I've owned a Charter Arms Bulldog Pug since the mid 1980's. Mine is in .44 Special. It's a decent quality revolver, but certainly not of the quality of a Colt, Smith, or Ruger. Like most things in life, "you get what you pay for". I do use it as my carry gun at times, so I guess I do "stake my life on it", for whatever that's worth. It has proven to be surprisingly accurate for a little snubbie, so there is that as well. If you can ever find one, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it.

Believe there is a Miculek model called the JM special or something like that.

Do you really think you're going to find any deal on a gun today?

Here's the deal: you found a gun you can buy.

If I don't find a revolver in the caliber I want, I'll simply try to find a 6 or 7 shot auto. Lugging around a concealed full sized 40/45 is a chore.

Since you’re not the US Army struggling to resupply the 2nd Division via long supply lines . . . what’s the big deal with a revolver in .357 even if your other pistol is .40? If anything, having some diversification in ammo might be handy someday.

Joe Bob,

There is no "i" in ordnance. ;)

There are good carry guns out there. Even in larger calibers. .45 ACP rounds either will not work in a revolver (because they lack the shoulder at the bottom of the casing) or will work awkwardly somehow.

For easy carry, I like my 'airweight' Smith 442, but the caliber is only .38.

I HAD a very nice S&W .357 Airlite until it was confiscated by the Madison County Sherriff's department on a traffic stop. Fookers won't give it back or return my calls.

I think just bite the bullet (hahahahahahahaha), hand the money over and buy the Smith. You'll be happy with it. Any lessor beast and you'll wish you had paid a bit more and got the good one.

Well, the Madison County Sherriff decided that my request to return my illegally confiscated .357 S&W airlite was valid. So looks like they will drop it off at a local FFL and it will be transferred.

Only took 2.5 years.....asswipes.

I like your thinking.

So, GA has determined I have a SA right. Got my CCW. Took four months to get an appointment, 2 weeks to issue. I think there is a logjam there somewhere....
