Concur. The Enemy has kept his word. Now there dead Marines, Soldiers ( at current count) to pay the price. Prayers as well for the current Commander in Chief that he would have the capacity to make the right decisions as he leads our nation.

We collectively made a choice as a nation to invade Afghanistan. This is the sad, convulsive end to the repercussions of that choice.

Four POTUS had this on their plate, plenty of questions abound.
Our cultural ignorance to not realize about the duplicity of the Taliban & Afghan army to not kill each other and focus on the invades (us), was a vacuum of leadership at many levels.

Hopefully human rights will temper the Taliban & ISIS going forward

^^^ Spot on analysis , regardless of your political party affiliation both parties had their hands all over this . Plenty of blood to go around unfortunately . I would hope we have learned our lesson . Personally I have/had no problem going after those involved in the 9/11 tragedy . Other than that countries have to correct/fight their own internal battles .

If a country asks for our military help , no decision is made until military experts agree on how to perform the mission and how successful it can be short term . No more invasions lasting decades . Just think how all that money could have been used for infrastructure/healthcare/education etc etc . I really hope our " leaders " are smarter but I am not holding my breath .

Funny how folks are so eager to spread the blame about bad decisions made in the past few weeks and months to people who did not make them. Recent bad decisions have little to do with the previous 20 years. We know how to do this and practice/exercise NEO and force protection all the time (even in peacetime)...but chose differently here and got the expected results. A high school JROTC student could have better planned and executed this.
