A gorgeous day here...
78 degrees, full sun, no wind, no humidity. Couldn't ask for more.
My normal 2 hour mowing led to 3 hours. Slower is better when it's this nice. The ice cold Two Hearted Ale made it all the better. I love summer. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1625865440.jpg |
Turtles enjoying it?
|
^^^ Oh yeah!
They love the sun....and freeze-dried shrimp. <iframe type="text/html" frameborder="0" width="480" height="394" src="//video.nest.com/embedded/live/dgRkzHdqJY?autoplay=1" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
Here too. Spent a couple of hours getting cancer...(spot spraying weeds with roundup.)
|
I'm gonna have to drive up there and just hang out sometime.
|
^^^ I'll put out some signs.
Turn right for turtles! Anytime. |
Nice here too, except for the whole, "hotter than the hinges of hell" thing.

^^^ Gotcha....I was remembering all the emails stating..."you are eligible to join a class action suit against Round-Up" (cancer)
How would they know if I ever used Round-Up?...and I don't think I have cancer. |
Fire about two miles from here. A tanker truck caught fire next to the freeway and it spread to the brush & chaparrel. Right now it's around 70 acres and CalFire & the Forest Service are on it. I'm confident it won't make it here but I already put out my extra hoses & heavy duty sprinklers. tankers & helicopters everywhere, plus a big, four engine tanker lumbering around.

The heat there is so much diff than here. We had the dryness here a month ago, but not the heat. Now, the dryness is gone here...I burned a pu box full of brush and limbs. Just dump it anywheres and light a match...no worries. |
My brother-in-law actually contracted non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma via frequent use of that weedkiller. He has recently received his class action payment but he has suffered a great deal over the years

I am out here in Sacramento, California and yes.... it is a gorgeous day looking out my window.
Friggin' HOT outside. The air outside is so hot the all the birds are walking. I think it is around 110 degrees right now. 4pm PST. My next door neighbor leaves a big pan of water on her front lawn so lots of turkeys hang out on my lawn where the shade is. This area of California, with all the mature trees and rivers is beautiful. It is a shame that for whatever reasons, we have a tinder box for fires, very little water and no real pro-active solution. |
CalFire and the F.S. knocked the fire out. Trucks are leaving & the spotter plane flew back to its base. It was a reminder to not take anything for granted, although people around where we live do a good job of managing their landscaping. I tried to drive to the nearest town (15 miles) to buy some potting mix, but the freeway was still full with traffic at a standstill.
I bought and connected up a water basin for the animals, so rabbits, squirrels, turkeys and deer (that we've seen sofar during the day) are finding it a place to get water. |
^^^ very good.
|
Marv, be ready to bug out. Fire is no joke and no matter what it is, it is just stuff
I could not belive they sold fireworks this year |
Beautiful day here too! Took the dog for her usual walk and watched Team USA Rowing practice in the singles, doubles, quads and 8 person.
