Willow Springs
Well after a lifetime of being around Pcars and autocrosses, my son Matt finally had his first big track day. Lol I can see a lot of mistakes but he learned a lot!

Ted I am sure that was painful for you to watch! probably half speed for your slowest lap. But it was his fist lap solo.

He stayed the right way up. that's all that matters LOL
He was getting faster and smoother too. Ah, what was the line "Good tires, but not great tires" "Well sorted or something." "If he didn't swerve that dog that ran in front of him he would have been fine." |

He needs to look at his seating position. To me, it doesn't look optimal.

I enjoyed the "Streets" course a bunch, usually I would put in the short geared transmission to get me ready to race at PIR or down in Mexico. I would suggest getting a foam cover to put over the video camera sound inlet so you don't get that awful wind noise. A set of driving gloves and also driving shoes make the driving more comfortable also.

I hate that section at 1:33. Stock ratio 901 tranny gives you a choice of redline or bogging. Not too bad in a kart.
Streets is a busy, technical track that I didn't enjoy as much. And they do it backwards (in karts anyway) from time to time. It's really messed up to drive that. A shifter kart at SOW is this most fun you can have. Once you do that, cars just don't do much for you unless they are real track cars. Last edited by Zeke; 07-13-2021 at 11:35 AM..
