Bluetooth Android music questions
 

Out of the gate I am way behind the times so go easy on me 😁 . I have an Android phone and I recently installed a touchscreen Android based head unit in my truck . I want to be able to download music to my phone and play via Bluetooth in my truck . I am aware of pay for play services like YouTube and Amazon . But I am looking for a free service/App .

I did a search for " free offline music App for Android " and it looks like there are lots to choose from . One that stands out to me is " Black player " because it looks like a simple interface . Anyone using this ?

Main reason I am doing this is poor wifi reception where I generally drive , that's why I " think " I need an offline App . If I am wrong please advise . And assume I know nothing 😁 . Thanks

It's a weak cell or terrestrial signal, not weak WIFI but that really means nothing.

What I get from your post is you would like to load up your phone with songs and play them back using your new Android head unit.

1st, assuming the head unit supports BT which is highly likely, you should not need any additional apps.

The stock default music app on your device should be all you need.

As far as BT in general. I would not look at that as the 1st option for connectivity.

Highly probable the head unit has a standard 3.5mm audio jack, USB port, or even an SD card slot.

SD card would be my 1st choice. Load it up, slap it in, let the head units UI handle playback.

You should be able to play from your downloaded playlist using bluetooth. As SM said, no app required.

Hmmm I created a playlist for one album as a test. But I think the playlist was saved to a cloud storage vs actually on my phone . Talk to me like a 10 year old how do you save it to the phone ? My phone has Amazon prime and YouTube music apps but don't you have to pay/activate for those to work ? My head unit does not have SD card slot .

I can't help ya there. I don't save music to my phone. I'd think you would want to make sure you're saving it to the internal storage of the phone. I know in Device Care on my Samsung you can view internal storage and there's an Audio file. That's where I'd save the music if I was going to do it.
Go to settings, scroll down to device care and open, look for storage and open, Look for audio. That's where you'll want to save the music.... unless you have a micro SD card installed in your phone for more memory then you'd want to save it all there.

Easiest thing for me is to xfer mp3s from my computer to my phone. Connect via BT to head unit, golf cart, powered patio speakers, etc. As for free Android music apps, I happen to like Musicolet because it has a couple of good widgets. GL
