Computer folks... help me out here 2 hard drives both with windows 10 installed
I know I can run two hard drives in my system. My question is, I have two hard drives that both have Windows 10 installed. I need to keep my 2.5 SATA HDD because of a glitch with Quickbooks and them not providing me a code to reactivate the software after a drive clone to a PCIe NVMe SSD.
I know I can go into Bios and set boot priority. I looked yesterday and IIRC it's set to UEFI not legacy. I don't have the SATA HDD installed right now so obviously the only HD listed was the new SSD. I don't want to mess anything up by installing the SATA and causing any sort or boot issue. I want to be able to access the SATA HD to run quickbooks. Is this possible without booting from the SATA HD? I'm thinking I should be able to access QB with the SATA HD acting as a storage device. So what, if any, steps do I need to take to be able to access the old HD? I considered just plugging it into a usb port and using it as an external drive but that seems like a pain. |
Not really - when you boot the second drive, it should show up as D:\ and all of your paths in your registry, etc will reference C:\

I'm gonna plug it into my USB adapter later today and see exactly what I can and can't access on the drive. I might have to change the name of the thread to "Invoicing software recommendations" because Intuit went to a monthly fee. I can't even find an option to buy a full desktop license like I did my 2018 version of Pro. |
Might want to look at GnuCash a F/OSS quickbooks substitute
