HD Sportster S

Ummmmm......I'm a Ducati guy.....and I want that. I always loved the Sporty 48....but its a Sporty and I have always felt the performance gap was too great. This beast looks awesome.

The exhaust pipes are kinda ugly and that's a heavy machine at 500 lbs. I'd bet it goes like stink off of the line. I'd like to test ride one.

Liked the looks and the specs until I got to the brake light and license plate cantilevered off the end of the swing arm. Whose idea was that? The effect of those few pounds will make it harder for the rear suspension to keep the wheel in contact with the pavement. Looks like the stylists, copying from the bobber culture rammed that one down the engineers' throats.

Best

It's not a Sportster. How about coming up with a different name....

The new sportster is meant to compete with the bikes being produced by Ducati and triumph. I think it’s a good move forward.

Its not a style thing, they are doing that to follow federal law. Notice that it unbolts from the swing arm. I guarantee there are already 'tail shop' kits in the works.

If it wasn't style, I think they would have simply cantilevered it from the rear frame to avoid the unsprung mass.

Other than that, I like the look.
