Was it just me or was there an issue with the forum?
 

Wasn't able to get on for a few days, was it something on my end or was there an issue with the forum?

This is the first time I could get on since Friday?

I kept getting a "blocked message" from my firewall due to phishing on the forum.

I had to sign a pledge not to provide misleading information:D

You weren't the only one - Avast virus scan was complaining about a phishing attempt every time I tried to access Pelican forums.

My virus software did the same thing. I called Pelican and they were aware of it. Seems to be fixed now.

Most of the free antivirus programs are like Facebook. If they are free, you and your computer are the product. They are worth just what you paid for them.

It looks like the last posts aren't showing up in the forum lists... So you wont be ware of this post until it's fixed.

The quote function worked-didn't work-then worked again today.

Main pages are not updating w/ newest posts at top.

For me the list of threads hasn't changed since Fri, and if there's a new post in a thread, the thread doesn't indicate that there are new unread posts. Basically, when I refresh the page, the site looks like no one has posted since Fri. But if I click a thread, then I see new posts.

Something is going on.....the system wanted me to re-register when I first attempted to log in today.

I came back after running a bunch errands, and it seemed like the top 20 or so threads may have switched order, but the "new post" notification for threads is not updating, and I don't see any new threads. And threads aren't changing page. The website is definitely fubar.

Also when I open Pelican it shows me as the only active user.

I tried to post a new topic. It says I posted in but it doesn’t show up on the title page.

I feel "special" being the only active user for the past few days.

The center loggin bounced me out a couple times. No worky.
The one in the upper-right corner worked, but then trying to quote a post got logged out again.

Updating new post order on the main pages is still frozen at 7/31.

I've also had problems, many days now. But remembered that I had to re-do some stuff on Firefox after an update there. Also used Ad Blocker and had to reload that after Firefox update. Only to get logged in (today) was to enable the 'save passwords' and allow pop-ups for Pelican. Seems they're not officially a "HTTPS" registered site or something like that. Security risk warnings all over the place when trying to log in, so would seem they are the issue, not my PC. I can log onto all the normal sites I used OK (both HTTPS and HTTP) without all the hoops and tiring stuff. Never got a response from PP after send them a contact us message.

PARF cancelling would be good business practice. Don't know why a hate forum helps sell parts.

All forums functionality should be back up, unexpected server issues over the weekend. Tech team did a great job sorting things out as quickly as they could today.

Given the timing I thought it might be related to Java Dog’s epic meltdown on one of the COVID threads last week. I thought Pelican might finally have had enough.

I felt like a ghost..post anything i like and it showed on my screen but nowhere else. That happened to me once long long ago..

I didn't have any problems at all.

Mind you, it takes two days for the new threads to be UPS-ed down to me in the South Pacific. So it was probably fixed by the time I'd had breakfast.

Favorite Bowie..it is all about being on the fkin edge..it is sumthim i know about chapter and verse. That is fkin why i hold the view about the circumstances we find ourselves in today. It is the same thing writ large!
