Paypal buyer from Canada

Is there anything I should be aware of accepting a Paypal moneys from some one from Canada?

Does it take longer to clear??

I sold sold large speakers on Ebay and the monies wasn't available for 30 days?

Thoughts?

Dave

I'm not a big PayPal fan, but it should work fine. Get the money on hand before you ship...

Where are you shipping to? A Pelican intermediary might help.

I live just west of there right now. I could take the shipment and hold it for pick up, or send it on.

It’ll be fine, just make sure it’s PayPal goods and services and not gift. I used to sell parts across the border all the time.

Make sure the buyer knows they are responsible for customs/import taxes.

Adding to what p4l said, I'd ship with a signature required. That way they can't claim they never received the item.

Years ago, shortly after ebay started up, I sold an item with the shipping charge built in.
I stated free shipping to the USA and Canada via UPS.
That was a bad mistake.
The package was was less than $20 in the states, but over $50 for the winning bidder in Ontario, Canada. Someone told me afterwards...never ship UPS into Canada.
Maybe that has changed now.

USPS has the lowest brokerage/import fees for bringing parts into Canada

Thanks for the replies.

The buyer is paying and arranging for the pick up , it’s an engine. As is where is.

My concern is the money from PayPal.

I sold some big speakers on eBay. I agreed that the buyer could pick up the speakers to save the shipping fees. He paid by PayPal before taking delivery. Cool !

I tried accessing the money but pay pal froze the money for like 30 days . Not cool. I guess PayPal protects the buyer.

I’ll put in the bill of sale - that buyer is responsible for any and all taxes and import fees.

You will get paid eventually. Should not be an issue.
