Unsure

Hi.

I’m completely new to the brand Porsche and have just bought a 986 2.7 2002. What section should I post a query about the variocam and it’s solenoid please?

You can post in the 996+, and Boxster/Cayman forums. However, our water cooled forums are not as well trafficked as the air cooled.

The stand alone Boxster forum has good content/knowledge and is a sister division to Pelican .

Charlie, this forum is EPIC-LY AWESOME for older air-cooled Porsche 911's. Well , not THIS forum, but the 911 Technical Forum here on the Pelican site. This is the forum where mostly old men bicker, pontificate and reminisce (mostly).

But for YOU, you need to visit the Boxster & Cayman forum here on Pelican -as rfuerst911sc mentioned above.

Finally..there is also other large Boxster forums on other sites too. Sites with active fourms that start with word Renn....

Or type in "boxster forum." IDK if all of them are still around but at one time there were actually several.

I've found anything but classic 911 technical support lacking on Pelican. Rennlist has a more robust water cooled user base, at least for the 996 and later 911.
