It's none of my business
I know. It's none of my fkn business but ...
A friend from the old neighborhood stopped by. They are now friendly with the couple that bought our house. They showed us pictures. It's none of my business what they did to the place once they bought it, but I am stunned. MrsWD and I designed a kitchen that we thought was a pretty good use of the space. Everything was close at hand, it had a decent sized cook top, a nice oven, a prep sink and a wash sink big enough to scald a hog in, lots of counter space, a little bar, and a place for a breakfast table. ![]() ![]() ![]() So the new owners ripped out the entire island, with the bar, counters, prep sink, storage - everything. And Put In A Table.

New owners have a tendency to also rip out all previous gardening and start completely over.
It's what new owners do. ![]() ( I think it's like marking territory) |

Perhaps a big family and like lots of people in the kitchen. A big table makes sense for some.

We replaced almost all carpeting in the bedrooms of the previous house we had when we listed it on the market. I think we spent about $4-5k. Most of the main floor was hardwoods.
The new owners ripped out all the carpeting and installed wood floors.

35 x25? Wow! I could squeeze 2 pool tables in a room that size.. a 9' for the grownups and a 7' bar table for the kiddies...

They spent $10-20k making it "their own'.
Then worked half a year paying for it all. And listened to the hallway echos while realizing there was no more extra kitchen storage space.

35 x 45. You could play half court basketball in the great room. I miss that house. I don't miss the neighborhood or the lack of shop and storage space, but I loved the house.
