UPS just keeps on sucking
I come home to find a large package on my porch. "oh frak me what did I buy now?" I didn't remember buying anything that large. Check the label "HUH?" That's my addy but not my name.
I don't recognize the name from the neighborhood so of course I get on the website but can't find any widget to report this. I call an 800 number and get tired of holding. I call the local UPS store and they say sorry but we have nothing to do with deliveries. So now what? Maybe flag down a driver? Order a home pick up? UPS SUX! |

I'd be wondering if someone got my CC info...

A few years back I had the same thing happen. My address and a strange name. Like Fritzy Beane.
I looked for "Fritzy Beane" address in all the search engines. Nada The next day a knock on the door. A chick with pink hair. "Hi! I am Fritzy Beane and I think you have my package. I just moved in across the street and I used the wrong address on the order." I am sure she noticed my hunk of a body and wanted an excuse to meet me. :) |

Just do a Google search for the name on the address label.
If you can't find the person, I'd just keep it unopened in the garage until you get contacted by someone. If no one ever contacts you then just keep it. |

You took my line! Dead serious - I was going to post something almost IDENTICAL to that! :) |
I just don't feel right keeping it, but if'n I can't return it then I guess I'm free to do whatever.

We're just a few months away from the Pelican gift exchange.

1). What probably happened is that some major scammer operation used your address with a stolen credit card sourced from the internet. 2). They tracked the package and maybe followed the delivery truck. 3). Then the young "girlfriend" was sent in to take it from you. If they sent it to scuzzy neighborhoods, it probably would have been re-stolen before they got to it. |
Working for UPS for almost 30 years I can tell you that customer service has steadily gone downhill as a new generation of driver and management comes in. It started when the stock went public. Customer service took a backseat to shareholders. And the OP is exactly right, the help line sucks bad.

^^^ Are you planning on fixing your mailbox?
A square box will never sit on a round top mailbox. :D |
How about this, boys and girls.
I received a text to my phone from DHL. My package will be delivered tomorrow. What package? I haven't ordered anything. The address appears to be an empty lot. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1627941483.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1627941509.jpg |
They are consistent at sucking. Consistency is the key here.
