Ant Hills, how I hate them!!

I've a couple hills at my cottage lot, and looking for a good way to be rid of them. Any help would be great.

Everything was sorta OK 'till I moved a shed to my lot and had to dig up a bit of one hill..... Man did that piss them off, now they are running around everywhere. Help

can you sprinkle boric acid. I hear that will grind up their bodies as they walk on it and take it back to the nest.

Was +/- on ants until a few years ago when I noticed a new-ish Swamp White Oak was growing a LOT better than others of the same age. Looked close and found a bunch of black garden ants running all over the thing. I was a bit worried but left the colony at its base alone. Well, it's still going and another colony has shown up at the base of a nearby Burr Oak. Now they are both doing too well to change anything. YMMv.

+1 on Amdro but you must keep it dry.

How about an M80?

I have a paver driveway and certain times of the year (including now) the ants build little sand hills between the pavers. I need something to sprinkle on the driveway and sweep into the crevasses between the pavers. Is the Amdro a powder?

Get some Taurus SC. Mix it up in a backpack sprayer. Takes a week or two but will keep your yard clear of ants for a couple of months.

It works!

My brother just embraced the suck and buried a fifty pound bag of sugar about ten yards from his house. Claims he hasn't had any in his home for five years now.-WW

Amdro is granular.

Yes a bunch of airborn angry fire ants DOES sound like a good idea.

+1 on the Amdro. It takes a few days, but will wipe out the entire colony.

It's granules, a little bigger than sand. It would probably work for most pavers as you describe. I suppose if yours are REALLY tight, it might not be small enough.

That's what I was thinking. Make sure you use a piece of pipe/conduit so you can get it several inches down, and get maximum distance and volume of ants flung into the air.
