Matt, karma has a way of coming around. You’ve helped people out in the past and we’re happy to return the favor.
I’ll pray tonight for her continued recovery.

Skytrooper 08-09-2021 01:40 PM

They did a CAT scan yesterday and found a shadow on her kidney. They went in today and put in a shunt so she could pass it. The doctors are almost certain that this is the origin of the infection that went septic. I have not seen her today. I was doing some work for an old army buddy (garage door repair), but my BIL kept me updated. They were going to remove her from the ventilator today as long as her breathing was more normal. I do not know if the surgery changed that.

Thanks so much my Pelican family !! It means a lot to me !!

astrochex 08-09-2021 03:12 PM

Thanks for the update Matt.

Prayers for her speedy recovery.

oldE 08-09-2021 03:33 PM

Matt, thanks for the update. Prayers will continue. Glad the Docs have found what they think is the source of the trouble. That was close.
Let your sister know there are a lot of fairly nice guys on her side.
If you need anything else, you know how to ask.
Best
Les

IXXI_carrera 08-09-2021 03:35 PM

Prayers sent! Glad to hear the good update.

HobieMarty 08-09-2021 04:02 PM

Great news to hear that your Sister is doing better. I have a coworker that became septic and has been in the hospital for several months but has now been moved to a rehab facility. His issue started with surgery on a hernia and bacteria in his lungs. It has been a long recovery but he is much better now.
Best wishes and more prayers for your Sister and your family!!!

So it was a stone? I've had a few, not fun in the least but thank god, I never had a complication like sepsis. I probably don't have to tell you how serious of a condition that is. Also, the type of "help" they gave her to pass it is one situation where it's a heck of a lot better to be a woman than a man!!

Still, no fun...poor thing. I hope she continues to improve. What's her name? So we can make sure that the prayers go in the right mailbox. ;)

Skytrooper 08-10-2021 02:54 AM

My sister's name is Anne. She will be 66 in September.

Thanks all !,

Gretch 08-10-2021 04:40 AM

Blessings to Anne!

glad to hear she may have dodged a bullet!!!!!!!!!!!!

Skytrooper 08-11-2021 11:52 AM

Anne has progressed where they have taken her off the ventilator. Plus, they are moving her out of the ICU ! I have not seen her today, but yesterday afternoon she was doing pretty good in my eyes. Lots of progress. Today, I believe they are going to start letting her drink some nourishment.

Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes !!!

rfuerst911sc 08-11-2021 11:53 AM

That is a great update , keep the good news coming !

Rikao4 08-11-2021 11:56 AM

Outstanding news. We're a bunch of grumpy old farts with soft creamy centers.

Looking forward to continued reports of continued improvement for Anne!

Anytime people start feeling sorry for themselves and first world problems have the bummed out, just go to a hospital and see what real issues are........heartfelt hugs sent.

speeder 08-11-2021 10:58 PM

Glad to hear it! My favorite person is my sister, Ann. :)

Skytrooper 08-14-2021 04:54 AM

Well, the news is great !! Anne is being discharged from the hospital today !! She still has a good bit of recovery and rehab ahead of her, but I think being home is the best place for her.

Thank you all so much for the prayers, well wishes, good vibes, and the genuine concern !!

rfuerst911sc 08-14-2021 05:35 AM

Wow that is fantastic news ! Hopefully each day she will get better and better .

Bill Douglas 08-15-2021 01:14 PM

Ah, so the prayers did work!

Great to hear she's recovering, and the best place to recover is at home.

oldE 08-15-2021 01:30 PM

Be sure to keep an eye on her for the next week or so.

astrochex 08-15-2021 02:37 PM

Thanks for keeping us updated, Matt.

Great to hear the positive developments.

Skytrooper 08-16-2021 02:33 AM

Her discharge was delayed until yesterday. She developed a secondary infection that had to be addressed prior to her release. She has been sprung though. She called me on her way home.

Thanks all !!! The support you all have offered has been terrific !!

Rikao4 08-16-2021 05:10 AM

awesome..
remember to work those lungs..
bug her if you must..
she will thank you later..

Rika

Skytrooper 08-16-2021 06:47 AM

I have been bugging her about working her lungs ! So, far she is very serious about getting her function back.
