Carpentry- wall fixing removal
This is a fixing into a plaster wall which mounted a towel rail.
Can anyone advise how to remove this type of fixing with minimal damage to the wall? TIA. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1628484231.jpg |
Leave the Molly's in there and cover with sticky dry wall tape and a few mud applications. I use the 5 minute mud for small repairs so I don't have to wait too long to sand and re-apply

Hey thx. They're not quite flush tho. No way to remove?
|
Yep, get some sticky mesh tape. I wouldn't pull the Molly's out, they're fine buried in the mud
|
Easy way is to drill them like a pop rivet.
|
Or just bash them in a little on the face. (1/8”) and then tape and mud over.
|
And the they're out. Inserted bolt, tapped with hammer. Heads busted off. Thanks all.

Put the ball end of a ball peen hammer against it, tap the hammer with a mallet until it’s just below the surface. Easy repair with a teaspoon size dollop of spackling. . |
