My first thought, abolish State Income tax, and replace with tax at the register/pump catching everyone equally based on their desired consumption needs, but with one exception! That exception is Government Pension accuing Workers, still pay Income Tax.

Naturally I would freeze all Foreigner Visas.

Corporate State Tax would be based on employing people full time, with benefits, and if you feel you need foreigners, you need to submit an application for such, proving job offerings offered at a fair wage, have been pursued.

Etc etc.

Foreigners also would continue to pay a tax, that would be pooled to support there stay (not on our dime).

Emergency order placing a moratorium on all new regulations and taxes on businesses. A state tax credit equal to any amount that a business spends on new equipment purchases.

Get the state back to work. Get the economy going again.

Set up a secondary checkpoint at Points of Entry, deny them wherever possible. I kind of threw that in, and have explored thoughts on the Visa problem.A chapter from the current direction in Texas, where they are muscling the Fed out, for the well being of there State.

No Americans?? Or is it they only employ illegals. If its the latter there must be something up with the company regarding conditions, wages or benefits.

Kind of what Texas does, sales tax and property tax but no income tax.

There is also a tax on business property like vehicles, machinery, furniture but at least that value goes down year over year vs real property that usually goes up.

So the easiest way to avoid taxes in Texas is to live in a crappy little house which is what I do

Now if I could just figure out how to not buy so much stuff and pay less sales tax!

I think he's talking citizens. There's companies in California that hire a lot of H-1 guest workers, technical wizards who are cheap.

Not sure, engineering talent isnt cheap and there are a limited number of h1bs. I worked for a bay area tech company for many years and I can tell you they pay the people here on h1s just as well.

Its off shoring jobs to India and Eastern europe where they cut costs on wages and benefits.

Thanks! Yes I posted into the wrong section, my apology! My intent isn't to debate petty arguments, but what moves could a truly dynamic mover and shaker do to recover at least a failing State. The Fed is beyond repair, I still think individual States could change the trend.

PS this could be a totally bi-partisan topic, even if you get a sense of a Political leaning! O

I'd stop unemployment benefits/social welfare if there are any jobs going in the area.

Mind you, you stop the dirty foreigners coming in and doing the work you might have to get of ur arse and do the work yourself. Or pay full price for your house and renovations.
