The ultimate "My UPS/FedX/USPS" sucks/doesn't suck continuing thread.
The ultimate "UPS/FedX/USPS" sucks/doesn't suck continuing thread.
Go ahead and one star this bad boy! In response to the litany of recent delivery threads, I propose a singular source for delivery praises and bi#$$#ing. I will start with a concern- Amazon has caused a glut of USPS deliveries, and many large packages DO get placed in compromised places- on mailboxes- on streets- etc. It's a wonder more don't get stolen. I am thankful in my neck of the woods, it's not a problem. Yet. 2nd concern, due to the shortage of workers (must be due to covid payouts), USPS doesn't get to my house until much later in the day. Bless those who are busting their ass to make it happen. Frustrating, but I get it/ 3. Fed X- Has had four deliveries to my house this week. All on time, or ahead of time. They have done well 4. UPS- Not on my curmudgeon radar, so they must be doing well (but I've got my eyes on you). 5.DHL- Ships things across the sea, but doesn't ship close, so they say "forwarded to carrier", meaning they gave it to USPS, so I wait in limbo (because shipping updates stop while in usps possession) for my gratuitous watch straps from England. 6. Royal Mail- Works, but slow, and gives it to DHL, which gives it to USPS, so my sexy watch straps take even longer. 7/ Russian Mail- Ends up in some siberian holding pattern, but eventually gets here with cool russian stamps. That is all :D |

FedEx and UPS are planning to consolidate into one company. It will be called... FedUp |
Here in too in New Zealand
I bought a drill press (quite heavy) online. I paid fifty bucks for it to be delivered by Daily Freight. The package was picked up that day and freighted to Wellington overnight. It sat for a week in Wellington . I phoned up pretty pissed off when I realised it had been in the depot for a week. I said to the guy "TODAY, and you go through and tell the boss there is a very angry customer on the phone. NO, you won't "do your best", you will deliver it today. And I want my fifty bucks back, and maybe you should rename yourself to Weekly Freight instead of Daily Freight." It was delivered an hour later. Another Place PBT (Peter Baker Transport) took a week or more to deliver fresh fruit. Rotten by the time it got here. Daily Freight and PBT, I hope you are reading this. You are happy to charge full price but don't meet your side of the agreement. |
On the phone with FedEx AGAIN about another lost shipment.
This will make the 4th so far this year. I'm out about $5k in computer gear YTD. Yes I declare a value and file claims but it's a pain in the ass that I don't / shouldn't need to deal with plus the added expense of having to buy replacement gear that's always more expensive than what I'm reimbursed. |
I bought a used camera from a big photo place in New York City a couple weeks ago, late on a Sunday afternoon. They advertised one day shipping with the purchase for free. It shipped out Monday morning via FedEx. Monday afternoon tracking said it would be delivered to my house by close of business Wednesday. It arrived around noon on Tuesday. That is pretty good hustle if you ask me considering it had to go thru at least two airports.

Well they seem to have magically found my shipment.
Still at the original depot. Never scanned in. Since the stuff is in the original manufacturers packaging I'm going with someone knew what it was and stuck it in a corner to see if anyone came looking for it. If not it was going to "wander off" |
