Exiled From He11
Yay verily the God of Porsche's has chastised me in full measure in retribution for my misanthrophy towards the R Gruppe....
Last Saturday morining while the R Gruppe was languishing after having a hearty Breakfast in surroundings resembling Paradise (Monterey). I was loading my Porsche onto a trailer in a downpour reminscent of the of the Great Flood. Laying on the trailer trying to pass a chain around the transaxel to secure the my beloved 911S was not my idea of heaven. I would have been drier if I jumped into a swimining pool. After loading the last items on the 24 foot truck I rented....which btw was loaded about refrigrator height for the entire length....was able to begin my exodus into exile about 3pm. I crept over the Cajon pass at 35 mph with my 12000 lb load and Porsche in tow. Once over the pass I was able to get up to about 70 mph, but the truck was a bit squirrelily at that speed so I backed it off to 60 mph. The rest of the trip was basically uneventful, pulling into my new home at about 8 pm... Once here my 2 friends who helped me ferry my other 2 vehicles over here....helped to get my Porsche and Mustang unloaded and then after dinner they said, "See Ya" I have a suspicion that they were so helpful because they were glad to get rid of me and only wish that I had decided to move further away..... So now I am exiled in Las Vegas where I have discover that 3 of 4 of my closest neighbors are retirees from California...... Welcome to Gods waiting room should be the sign on the community where I now live! |
Think of them as good gin drinkers...
