Phantom Island banning...

A couple of weeks ago I tried to login. I got a banner that stated that I threatened a vendor. and got a one week vacation to the Island.

I served my time and PM'd two mods. One said they were no longer a mod, the other said they would look into it.

Nothing but crickets since then. Now....I insult I do not threaten. The last nasty gram I left was on a Sierra Madre thread. No way that garage based URO retailer is a PP vendor.

Back around 2006 Mulhullandose threatened me and my family's safety. Nothing was done, I had to get a TRO....the troll was finally banned. AFTER A YEAR.

I step on a mods teeny dick, get a week off and no explanation or name of the mod.

Keep in mind they owe you no explanation. I've been sent to the island exactly once and I earned it. I've pushed the envelope on many... many occasions. If you get sent off to the island, you probably earned it.

Seems pretty cut and dried, and honestly not at all shocking….

Based on what MBAtarga posted, I can see why you got banned.

I do agree on the explanation part. If you cross a line, you should know the what, where, when and how.

Ok, Problem solved. It's not that JB insulted anyone, it was the mere mention of a PP competitor's name. That will do it every time if noticed. A lot doesn't get noticed (obviously).

You can say Elephant Racing because even though you can buy direct, you can also buy from PP sometimes at a better price if you have a coupon. That goes for all vendors in the PP catalog.

Not so if PP doesn't list their parts. Therefore, if I happened to have new items for sale that pertain to the core PP business model, I can't list them in the classifieds and I can't be mentioned in the forums. I believe the rule is in the sticky in the parts 4 sale forums. It may not be clear, but that has been policy since day one.

No official points but at the mods or admin's discretion, 3 bans in 180 days will get you banned permanently on the 4th. Could even be 90 days, I didn't discuss that with the admin as he kept that responsibility at that level.

One more thing: if you say something and then retract it by edit, the mods can read the original content at any time. It never goes away.

Actually, that was one of the fun parts of the job, reading notorious deleter's posts after they thought they were gone.
