Tim Tebow back in football ?

If internet rumors are accurate the Jacksonville Jaguars are going to sign a one year deal with Tebow to play tight end . At the age of 33 he may still have some gas in the tank .

Urban likes the guy. I'd think since he hasn't played in quite a while that physically he should be okay. He could be a good gimmick play guy from the TE position.

Well.... it's gotta be old gas ... and just like a lawn mower.... Tebow won't start

PR stunt/move just to get TT associated with the team.

I saw/read that the Jags owner sold his $200M yacht recently .... Trevor's gonna get a very nice signing bonus now .

Tebow is a winner. Jacksonville will be a better team just having him on their roster.

While Tebow is a winner, the jags and their owner suck donkey balls. I wish the owner would hurry up and move the felons to London.
A lot of crap that isn't reported, since it would make the NFL look bad surrounds them.

From Wiki:

College statistics and records

At the end of his college career, Tebow held 5 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), 14 Southeastern Conference (SEC), and 28 University of Florida statistical records. He was the SEC's all-time leader in career passing efficiency (170.8), completion percentage (67.1%), passing touchdown to interception ratio (5.5 to 1), rushing yards by a quarterback (2,947), rushing touchdowns (any position) (57), and total touchdowns responsible for (145). Among many mentions in the NCAA Division-I record book, Tebow is ranked second in career passing efficiency, third in career yards per attempt (9.33), 8th in career rushing touchdowns, and also owns the record for most consecutive games in which he both threw at least one touchdown pass and scored at least one rushing touchdown.

Impressive to say the least! I hope he has a good first season and contributes the way he should, as one of the most competitive players to ever play the game!

So the Jags sign a 33 year old guy to play a position he NEVER has at any level, when they already have 5 other tight end's on the team.

Yikes, if they are just looking for marketing stunts I would think there are cheaper ways.

Chump change for the Jags owner. If Tebow wasn't a local high school, then college "demigod" ... there would be ZERO chance of this happening.

Mebbe they hired him to teach Trevor how to walk across the St. Johns river

Not to mention, an upright guy who may be a good influence on some of the less upright NFL’ers and the NFL’s reputation in general. I hope he does well too!

Julian Edelman was a QB coming out of Kent. He turned out to be an okay receiver. Edelman retired this year at 34 but his body has been taking a beating for the last several years where Tebow has been playing baseball and announcing games. Tebow should be healthy and if he has kept himself in shape should be able to play the position for a few years if he can catch a ball and run routes.

Think Tebow can't figure out the position? Think again.

He couldn't figure out how to be a useful NFL QB. He couldn't figure out how to be a useful baseball player.

But OK😆

He never got a real chance to be a useful NFL QB. In Denver even after a winning season and a playoff win, he ended up odd man out but for an understandable reason. If put in the right situation, most qb's can succeed. Trent Dilfer ring a bell? The problem is, teams expect a qb to step in and make an immediate difference. Few get the situation that a Brady in TB, Mahomes in KC or even the likes of Roethlisberger his rookie year in Pittsburgh get where there's a solid team around in place. Tebow never got that luxury.

Honestly if you look at Brady, he stepped into a good situation twice. The Patriots weren't a bad team when Bledsoe went down.

Race baiting wokeholes are whining about Kaepernick. Are either QB Kaep or WR Dez Bryant (another out of work whiner) willing to switch to TE? Kaep was 28-30 in his career and 3-16 over his last two seasons, yet despite not playing since the end of 2016(!!!) the left keep insisting he deserves another shot. For the record, Tim Tebow is 8-6 lifetime as a starting QB in NFL. So in addition to becoming a TE he can mentor the Jags #1 QB draft pick dude AND be an emergency QB to boot.

Tim also played in college for the Jags new head coach. This is about familiarity and flexibility, NOT race. Communist-democrats want to make everything about race...because THEY are they racists.

Sports is one (of many) businesses where race doesn't matter. Only performance. And heart. Tebow good, Kaepernick bad. It's just how it goes.

Baseball requires one to master several distinctly different skills in order to succeed. Take Michael Jordan for example: even this dummy took one look at his swing and knew he didn't have a chance. And if I saw what I saw then so did the real baseball experts. Publicity stunt all the way. Same was true with Tebow's attempt at baseball.

Tight end is an entirely different animal than trying to master high-end baseball or NFL-level QB skills. Tebow's mistake when he was younger was to absolutely refuse to accept anything but a QB position. He'd probably have made a solid NFL HB/FB or TE end (heck, he might have been able to play LB) but he dug his heels in and it cost his career.

I'm actually not much of a Tim Tebow fan, but I'm certainly not willing to dismiss the notion that he can still play in the NFL.

Is Tebow? Here are his thoughts on the subject last time he played in the NFL:

“I’ve had a lot of good opportunities to play another position but that just wasn’t in my heart. It wasn’t something I wanted to do. If I was going to make a change I’d rather make a change to baseball.”

Definitely a PR stunt, when the pos owner was asked if they would take Tebow when he was still with Denver, he said yes, when he was actually available, he snubbed him.
Now, they bring in Urban and Tebow,
Tebow is a true leader, but I don't know playing there left to lead.
