Just under 47K on the clock. Drove over to Lakeland yesterday to buy it via BIN on eBay. Saw the color, the model, the condition, and the location and had to have it. It's in almost perfect condition - not concours - but who cares. Starts, runs, and drives unreal. Came with an extra seat (Corbin), Clymer manual, and the Krauser bags. No tool kit or owner's manual. I'll get the title transferred and register it this afternoon.

![]() Those wheels I think are called Lesters, and I may revert back to the original wheels. Other than that I don't think so. Thanks!

So you gonna make us all sick and tell us what you paid or make us do some sleuthing on ebay to find out?

That looks really nice. I would keep the Lester's as they're easier to clean.

That’s the sweet spot right there. I’m currently trying to talk an elderly friend who has a /6 in the same color to sell it to me. Beautiful bike man.

I asked the seller the details of how he came about owning it and he said he bought it from a gentleman who was getting up in years and wasn't riding as much. Hope it works out for you.

Thanks, Bill. I agree. If you do some reading you'll find that BMW took some measures to change some things after the Japanese motorcycle boom hit in the early 70's. Kinda interesting to see the iterations through the models.

I just got back from a ride down to the Dollar General Store on the south end of the island and she ran OK. Lot of valve clatter or what sounded like it. Have to check the valve clearances. Light out in the RPM gauge too. Lots of power and runs through the gears good. These BMW's really do have a different feel & sound to them. Thanks for all the kind words, gentlemen!

Been looking on and off for a nice airhead for some time. I think maybe you’ve rekindled the effort. My son’s deployment ends in November so his Jeep will depart my garage, freeing up some space. Hmmmm.
