Santa Came Early

Yeah I know there ain't no Sanity Clause...so it was me....i bought the thing at an auction..but the price was a gift...

It's an LRB M25 .forged receiver, nm barrel, glass bedded birch stock etc etc

https://www.lrbarms.com/m14-parts.html

Guy on Long Island builds essentially custom m....14's. Considered to be the Cadillac of the M's. BULA builds em with Forged receivers as well..for much less on a production basis... they sell parts to the DOD.

These LRB's beat the crapola out of the Sprgfield Arm, Fulton, James River, Norinco etc..

The LRB goes for about the same money as a SAI at auction...which is strange considering the quality and price structure of the LRB...Bula on the other hand is more of known quantity and will go for just shy of MSRP.. this can be accounted for in several ways..

1. LRB's do not come up very often for sale. Once a year...So not many people know what they are looking at..

2. The LRB is virtually a custom so configurations vary from spoon to spoon. And LRB sells receivers to Custom Builders.. A stripped M25 receiver is a grand to 1179 alone..

So buyers are hesitant..and lump em in with the generic's. And that is where a savvy savant can make out..you gotta know the territory.

A friend of mine got hot for a m...14 cause his Dad had one in Nam... so he laid LRB and Bula on me...so I started to look...it took 3 to 4 months.. I just knew one was gona come my way sooner or later..and the price would probably be cheap.

Now do ya wana dance wid Mr T????

This is a Husq..varna FF,V 19.00 TGT/Varmit wt a 3.08 hvy SS B... Well now I am gona hear you say this must be a after mkt custom cause Husky never made this in this configuration... Well you would be wrongo Boyo... it is one of 7 made up by Husky via a smith/shooter named Wright back in 70. Husky wanted to break into the long range tgt mkt...so they built em and gave em out to noted shooters and spoon writers for their approval.. WOWZA!!! This is the fourth one to come to the surface...

I have been after and watching the Swedes for quite a while...luv that 6.5...This one came up, it looked unusual...so I did my due diligence and did some looking about..so I knew what it was.Surprisingly no one seemed to grasp how rare it is. . After the fact I found out that this one had been sold in 12/20 at a PA auction (by SN)...as part of the estate of Neil Knox...well Mr Knox was a noted spoon writer and WAS VP OF THE NRA..beat out by Charlie Heston for Prez..so it stands to reason he would be on the short list to get one of these from Husky. The auction house in PA fked up cause their description sucked...so this went real cheap..I paid more, about what a std config Husky would go for...which isn't much considering the quality you get from Husky..

I even contacted Knox's son, he verified that his dad owned it..and that he had shot it back in the day. So thing thing is quite special.

I don't see your posts so I don't know what 'gift' you got but let me guess, you found it at Goodwill and it is in your size and a perfect fit?

That's a nice pick up Mr Tabs. Our local cops still use the M14!

I got a chance to try one of these when I was in the Army.

It felt surprisingly nice... Not dated at all and it was easy to shoot a good group. I'd describe it as a proper rifle.

I called LRB and found out that they shipped a stripped receiver wt bolt to T Brown on 2/26/12. further inquiry reveled:

Fortunately I keep pretty good records and I was able to find my notes on this rifle. LRB M25 serial number 1094x was shipped to a customer in Panama, Florida on 4/9/2013. It was assembled from the customers parts kit which he purchased from the CMP. It was glass bedded and all the National Match modifications were done. It also included a Sadlak rail and Bobro bipod.

Hope this helps and thank you for your inquiry.
