I’m a lightweight. Ketchup makes me sweat.

I was like that when I was a kid. I grew into it though. I don't go looking for trouble, but I'll eat hot food, and enjoy it as long as it's got good flavor.

I've heard of folks that wouldn't use pepper and thought that some ketchup was spicy.

I knew a guy that couldn’t tolerate any amount of black pepper on anything. I cannot imagine that.

My friend Georgie, an East London girl who grew up on VERY hot Indian food. One night in a restaurant she didn't finish her meal so I said I'd finish it. OMG I swear I could track the meal going through my intestine. Doing a hard left, hairpin right, left. Even worse the next morning :( And I'm a chicken vindaloo sort guy. That was hot.

I like mild garden salsa, and horseradish, but stay away from anything that says "fire", or "hot" !

It might be rude .... but I put freshly ground black pepper on just about everything... even before the first bite.

How do I know it needs more pepper? I just know ;)

Ah yes. I like a steak, 100% encrusted in cracked black pepper, then cooked on the BBQ. Washed down with a good pinot.

I go through huge quantities of both black and white pepper at my house each year. Massive quantities.

Man, I use freshly cracked black pepper on everything, and go light on the pink sea salt.

When I was a young pup, I loved hot foods. About age 40 that changed abruptly. When I needed a bottle of Maalox after any spicy foods I just went cold turkey and pass on hot foods and salsas.

Many years ago when I lived at home with my parents, one of the family friends often ate a Tabasco sandwich. Just saturate a piece of bread with Tabasco, and two more slices to hold it with, and gobble it up.

My mom had some decorative colorful pepper bushes that were little tiny peppers. They were brutal hot and beyond my ability to eat but that family friend would eat a couple with his meal. Mom made him some salsa with those peppers and some vinegar. He said it was really good and put it on a sandwich in a thick layer. He said the next day he really regretted that decision. He did not enjoy them the second time at all.

I usually have a hot pepper on the side of my meals.
