Tattoos trashy or not

Vote for preference

masraum 08-30-2021 02:44 PM

I don't have a problem with tats. Sometimes they are fine to me. I've seen some folks that pulled them off well, both the subject and how they wore them. Sometimes they are the result of very questionable judgement and taste (trying to be nice here).

Big chest tats on a chick are rarely appealing to me. Big neck tats rarely seem like a good idea.

Seriously?

Yet another topic that has been discussed ad nauseum...

Not in one specific thread.. but..

I get it.

But.

One person's definition of trashy is another person's treasure.

It's all about perspective........

Yes I know...

There have been threads not specifically about tattoos... that rapidly devolve...

There are some member on this site that are highly opinionated about what other people do with their bodies..

I voted for the two in the middle.

I almost never see a tatoo that leaves a positive impression.
Almost always I think they'd be better off without it.
I could mention one exceptionn, and even then, that person has a major one they'd be better off without.

I don't like tatoos, but my wife has three of them. She had them done since we were married. They're more graphic designs than pictures, & they all represent us or me. One is the sound graph of me saying,"I love you Sweetie." I told her I didn't mind if she really wanted them as long as they weren't stupid pictures.

Yeah, they're all horrible.

I know this isn't what you were thinking about, but something to keep in mind.

Some tattoos have a deep meaning for the person getting the tattoo. I'm all for that. I don't have any tattoos myself.

There are probably far, far more tattoos out there by folks that either want attention or want to be different like everyone else they know or have an issue and are trying to push people away/shock people/turn people off.

I think they are better if there's some meaning, but I've seen plenty of tattoos that look cool.

I do prefer if the tattoo can be exposed or hidden. It seems like a better idea to get one in a place that would normally be hidden by clothes but could be exposed by the right clothes or when desired.

My GF has some really tasteful gray/black floral tats..

BTW she has an MBA and is a CPA, she is quite successful..

And really shouldn't the poll be a yes/no?

pavulon 08-30-2021 03:55 PM

Many appear as though they came to be soon after a very impulsive decision. Also, it seems to take a long time for people to admit any regert.

gregpark 08-30-2021 04:11 PM

I think they're just fine.... on other people's kids and grandkids

KFC911 08-30-2021 04:11 PM

LOL .... "NO REGERTS" .... mebbe the best tattoo ever :).

Went on a music (blues) cruise many years ago ... met a guy named Fred with his name tattoo'd on his arm.... looked fine.

Fred ... rhymes with bread .... yep... his original tat was "FREAD" :D. Cool couple, and she assured me he wasn't bs'ing.

This thread/poll may as well be "Young people: should they get off my lawn?"

Tim my opinion is that leg needs no help that a tattoo offers.
That said the tattoo is nice and I'm very partial to mba/ cpa woman.

Dear Penthouse,

I bagged, and dated this girl for about six months. She had a tatoo down there. Two dolphins, 69ing. The first time I got her panties down, she asked if I knew what it was. I told her, and she replied I was correct, and the first to get it right. Fun while it lasted.

True story

Baz 08-30-2021 04:36 PM

Another of my "neutral opinion" comments.......

Tattoos used to be cool......because they weren't worn by that many.

Now so many have them.......the cool factor has worn off.....

wdfifteen 08-30-2021 04:36 PM

My response would belong in PARF, so I'll just say mostly "NO" to tats.

Baz 08-30-2021 04:41 PM

Now if we're talking piercings....those that aren't seen in public.....a big yes!!! :D
