Free FOAM.
I’m building a new fishing net for a friends going away present. He’s my fishing bud and he is moving to Minnesota. Bummer. And it’s his bday on 9-11
I buy a great short handled net and add a tube for more reach. That’s all. I’m not weaving a net :). When I built my net. I used spray foam and it was disastrous. I didn’t have enough air space in the tube for great foam expansion and cure. Plus I feel spray foam is a one shot deal. The leftover in the can is lost. I pondered other options. Foam backing tubes…., eureka!! Free foam! I used the pipe and cookie cut the inserts. Zero doubts about this net not floating. I’ll seal it up with silicone and cap the ends with a furniture foot plug. I like full sealant so we don’t spread zebra mussels with out nets. (My logic anyways - probably flawed). It worked great. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1630769216.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1630769216.jpg |
Good idea for hollow tube handles, but I don't think that will work on my kayak fishing net, I got an all wood short handled trout fishing net similar to the link.
