Luxury watches..a close look
Like under a microscope look. Interesting video. Compares 3 watches. About 15 minutes.

While I was watching this video came up as a suggested viewing. Caught my eye because I have a 'Tradition' watch. My mom's husband died a few years ago and while we were going thru his stuff I came across the watch. Knew nothing about it but when it was offered I took it. Excited to get it cleaned up.

^^^a long video but a fun one. Hope your "tradition" watch turns out as well...Love watches with a family story. Doesn't mean much in the marketplace, but means a lot to those who have them.

I guess it's good to keep our watchmakers in business - just ask me about my $125 (but now $500) old hamilton military watch. I like it though so it's worth it, to me at least... And in my case, the new 3H vial filled hands are awesome!

The 3D imaging capability of that microscope is the winning ticket if you ask me.

I've got access to CT radiography capabilities up to 15 MeV - and nanofocus in the 200-400 keV range. I just need to steer them to some "training" objects like these. Guaranteed you're gonna see into anything you can carry on your wrist... (CT is computed tomography - you spin a thing on a table and take a few thousand images, then do computer magic to make 3-D pics)

I am not sure Geneve was a true luxury watch, but this restoration job was amazing and very satisfying to watch:

puzzling...obviously a quartz battery watch...yet when "restored" the seconds hand moved like it was a mechanical watch. Hmmm.
