BTW, the local Pep Boys can get 235/85x16 made by Cooper, Adventure H/Ts....supposed to be a 60 K tire.

My local tire shop has Hercules AT2's available for Monday delivery so I ordered them . They are a division of Cooper tires , online reviews look very good .

I checked with a friend that owns a tire store. He buys from a supplier in Delphos OH that has locations all over the country. The Yoko's are a no go.

Yeah that's why I called him back and asked if anything else was available and I went with the Hercules . They have been around since 1954 so they must be doing something right 😊

That's the problem with Samson tires.

Oh yeah! Samson was the hair guy! It's hard to keep track of these muscular mens...

The last two sets of tires I have had on the Sequoia are General AT-2s. Very similar to the BFG KOs, at less cost. I have been very happy with them, long wear, easy to mount and balance and not too loud.

I used to have Ulysses tires on my truck but every time an emergency vehicle with it's siren would drive by it would pull towards the rocks.

And now it's spray paint ☹️. Started a restoration of a John Deere 430 I recently purchased so needed some JD green for the fender pan . Went to Tractor Supply yesterday ........ nope . Went to Home Depot this morning ..... . nope . I have one more tractor supply near me , if they don't have it I guess I search online or see if JD dealer has in stock . Not life threatening just annoying .

I could have warned you on that one. I was in Menards last week and couldn't believe how low they were on Rustoleum spray paint. I had to go to Lowes only to find they had a pretty limited selection but somewhat better than Menards. It's the year of the shortage baby!

I hear it has gotten so bad that the guys are standing on the street corners looking for hookers now.

^^^ 😜

rfuerst911sc 09-12-2021 10:58 AM

I called the other local Tractor Supply and was told they had four cans on the shelf . I drove right over and they had five !! So I bought the five , not enough for the entire tractor but gets me close .

Yes- I had a few near misses with Ulysses tires as well. Switched to Atlas tires. Great load rating.

Thought for the day as we talk about tire shortages
"My old man's spare tires were only actually tires in the academic sense. They were round and had once been made of rubber."

Have a great Friday everyone!

Hard to go wrong with a little christmas story quote lol

Just got the call from the tire shop it's ready to pick up . Glad this is done .

vash 09-13-2021 09:21 AM

yay!!

i wanted Michelin tires from costco. they have been backordered damn near two years now.

running new Coopers until then. coopers are fine. lost a mpg mark, and they are noisier.

Just got home for a 4x4 dually it rides much smoother . I previously had a little bit of a vibration even though alignment had been checked . I think at least one of the old tires lost balance . She be smooth as silk at the moment 😁. I asked them to take the best of the old tires and put it on my spare . I went up one size and being a 4x4 I wanted the same diameter on all . I just looked at the bill they didn't bother to charge me for the mount/balance of the spare . I like dealing with small town local business .
