my wife is giving her Subaru away. free.

i got two raised eyebrows when i asked her if i could sell her Subaru and use the money to buy a new kayak. a new Hobie Pro Angler 360 12. silence treatment and furrowed brows. hahahha..

nope. apparently she want to give it to her brother. i put my foot down when she said we were going to deliver it to him and buy him lunch.

best BIL ever, so i have no qualms, but damn it if he doesnt need to come and get it.

its a Stick shift turbo subaru Forester. i dont go a month if a kid thinking he/she isnt the next tofasttofurious star doenst ask if the car is for sale. i think it would sell easy.

That is funny, my brothers wife just totaled hers, and in searching for a replacement they are finding used subarus few and far between. I told my brother that a lot of owners, like myself, don't ever intend to sell them, buy them new and run them till they are done, and he said he thinks they give them to family instead of selling. I will have to let him know the case study of one has gone his way lol.

Best/funniest thing I've seen all day (and that includes listening to a defendant trying to dime out his attorney this morning in court.)

We were looking to get our college freshman daughter a new bigger ride since all the vehicles here in Texas are the XL pickup trucks. I was looking at Subaru because of their longevity but my wife said it is a lesbian car. Too right.

I'm screwed. We've got a Boxster and an Outback, and my 2 previous cars were miatas.

true story.

a big RWD drive truck got stuck in loading a boat into the water. not at a ramp, but shoreline. he buried himself.

the guy was previously a dick to me, so i wasnt about to help. i did make a quick leash out of some cordage for their runaway pittie mix. cool dog, just having the time of it's life.

i kid you not. a subaru outback owner onhooked his tiny bassboat, and tied onto the stuck truck (they did take the boat off the trailer of the stuck truck)...and pulled it out!! everyone around cheered and there were high-fives all around. it was a sight to behold. badass subie.

Cool!

I went the extra mile and got the Outback with the 3.6L flat 6 vs the 4cyl. I do like the 6.

I'm about ready to give away my 2012 Outback to the junkyard. It was the worst car purchase I've ever made. My first and last experience with Subaru.

In the 3K miles I've driven it in the last 9 months I've owned it I've had to replace both oxygen sensors, both rear wheel bearings, 3 TPMS's, radiator, cooling fans, MAF sensor, purge valve, fuel pump, two calipers, two window regulators, the navigation system, new instrument cluster and now it's dead with a clogged catalytic converter and a slipping CVT transmission. All stuff that 'worked' and checked out fine with a PPI. You'd think I was a teenage boy racing my friends with it but I've never had the car above 60mph yet.

I made the mistake of trusting a dealers inspection, trusting it was a Subaru and all the hooplah that the fans give it and that it only had 120K miles on it with 1 owner. I will never buy another Subaru again. The only positive it has going for it is that it still has its head gaskets but that's about it.

I gave my '84 Mazda GLC to my brother in law. He was out of a job, really needed a car, "just a car, any car," yada yada. I told him it needed a battery and an exhaust system. He wanted me to deliver it - an 8 hour drive with no way to get home - and I said no way I'll take it to the junk yard. My wife at the time pitched an epic fit and in the end I "loaned" him a battery and she drove it down. Of course I never saw my battery again.
The guy who really, really needed "just a car, any car" put an exhaust system on it and sold it - with my battery in it. Unfortunately that wasn't the only time I got bent over by her effing deadbeat family.
